To think that Balkan people want to get into the EU! I hope France leaves the union when all of you get in! You are bound to end up in conflicts of this sort all the time as you are all stuck in the nationalism of the 19th cent. Who cares if Kosovo is independent or not - go get a job and do your charity - that's what matters.

"Kosovo would be still yours."
Joe

Sorry to dissapoint you Joe but Kosovo still is ours. It always will be ours even though its currently under occupation. You can never erase the evidence to whom Kosovo belongs. You tried burning it to the ground but in the end you failed.

I'm not saying it was a walk in the park during Milosevic but if its so much better for albanians in Kosovo today why are albanians leaving Kosovo by the thousands? I thought you would stay to build a respectabel "country" out of Kosovo and not run away from your obligations? I had a k-albanian coworker some years ago who said she would move back after the UDI. You think she did? No! She is still here, like so many other k-albanians. K-albanians in Kosovo are as free today as they were under Milosevic. Albanians themselves are their worst enemy.

I just don't undestand you man. I drive/walk all over Kosova/o and I fail to see one single police/military personnel with UN insignia.
(Kosova-USA, 31 May 2010 16:07)

You live and work in the USA, but have plenty of time to travel all over Kosovo and at short notice too. You must be one of those special US envoys that goes over on weekends and reports back on B92 during the week days.

For your information the UN does not have to have “police/military personnel with UN insignia” anywhere in Kosovo, but it is the UN that runs the place not the Albanians.

(Joe, 31 May 2010 21:47)

If you believe so much in this diatribe about freedom/democracy why aren’t you in Afghanistan “putting your money where your mouth is?”

Yes, I know armchair generals with a six pack next to them waving the flag and wrapping themselves in patriotism, but have never left the shores of the US or never have known about Kosovo prior to 1999.

Just keep on writing about freedom and dem………….

what you fail to realize:

Kosovo IS still ours.

it´s only temporarily under foreign control.

you will understand the difference, one day.

. If they would have been treated as South-Tyroliens in Italy than you would never had a Kosovo problem, Kosovo would be still yours.
(Joe, 31 May 2010 21:47)

Hehe.Comparing south-tyroliens to albanians when it comes to mentality or anything else is a total nonsense.Only someone who admitydly never met an albanian in life(and has no knowlage about their history either) can bring up such a parallel.Such nonsense comparisons are not rare in certain american hungarian media organs edited by former arrow cross members or their kids. How sad that there are still so many troyan horses of both german and turkish imperialism among hungarians.People with such narrow-minded pseudohumanist linear mentality caused in the past many problems not only to direct neighbours of hungary but with their blindness the hungarians themselves.Unfortunatelly history has shown that the biggest losers of let the neighbor's cow die theory combined with primitiv anti-ortodox mentality were hungarians themselves.Unfortunatelly the country is still full of these kind of pseudopatriots who feel sorry for albanian narcoterrorists who should have got a much tougher treatment for their actions. If Israel can take tough actions against those from whom they stole the land why serbs who secrificed more than anyone else against Europe1s inside(germans) and outside enemies cannot take tough steps against those albanians who have been allowed to cleanse them from Kosovo several times in history just because they were good bootlicker of both ottomans and hitlerists.

"Why when they got already independence?" (Joe)

-- If you've been there, you'd realize "independence" is such a relative term. "Sovereignty" is the operative word, and a good chunk of that is missing.

Mikael C

I had a good lough reading this. What do you think is more important for the average K-Albanian? Competing in international sports or have a terrorfree life...nothing to do anymore with the MUP and the
Serbian authorities? For them - and for everybody in a similar situation - even a limited independence is hundred times better than living terrorized as they used to live. If they would have been treated as South-Tyroliens in Italy than you would never had a Kosovo problem, Kosovo would be still yours.

Joe

There is a big difference in claiming to be independent and truly being independent. Kosovo can not compeat in sports as a nation, it has no UN seat and both its foreign as well as domestic policies are controled by outsiders. If you call that being independent then you don't know the meaning of the word "independence". Kosovo today is dependent. Dependent on Serbia to recognize it and dependent of foreign aid.

Ataman

Why when they got already independence?
(Joe, 31 May 2010 16:13)

Because it does not look like a real independence. It is more like a protectorate / colony which was given a new flag. And for a good reason. Go to Prizren and look around, you will find out, why.

Kosova-USA

Give Kosovo high autonomy within Serbia! Problem solved. UN and EU troops can stay in Kosovo as long as needed!
