Why? I thought the Kosovo status was a done deal... I guess not after all.
(trudsaam, 30 April 2010 22:45)

trudsaam,

Independent Kosova is most certainly a "done deal". I hope you understand that to "talk" does not mean "negotiate". Sure, Prishtina is always willing to talk to one of its neighbors, but only after Belgrade recognizes.

Since Serbia will never recognize your "status", (in which they made clear oooh soo many times) what is there to talk about? I know, i know the reinstallment of Serb forces in Pristina? , sounds good to me :)

Oh, it's 'ol Kouchner who presided over the kidnapping of several hundreds of Serbs and Roma - all under his watch. Ones who've disappeared and never been found - except for a few elderly people who'd been butchered by the Albanians/KLA. The younger were probably sliced and diced for their kidneys and other organs.

"right on Mr. Kouchner, tell them as is." (Kosova-USA)

-- He did. Before saying that "perhaps" the Serbs will "replace" their lines with Pristina-based transmitters (which you quoted) - a hypothetical conjecture - he said it was “not good” that the Kosovo authorities had decided to remove the transmitters of the Serbian phone networks, and is quoted as saying "people have to have the right to use telephones."

Convenient you and your fellow diaspora PRN left that out of your comment. You work for New Kosova Report?

Any Union that has this little megalomaniac as an FM, I hope to never be a part of (Serbia). This EU is just an exploitive Union - it is not one for all, and all for one. Look at the way it is handling problems in Greece. Well, with other large members falling apart at their financial seams, it will not be long before this vile Union implodes. Good riddance.

"There are no special prerequisites for Serbia to join the EU, but I do not believe that it would be possible with Kosovo as an internal problem of Serbia," Kouchner said in a statement published by Belgrade daily Večernje Novosti.

Dear Mr. Douchner,

Why would anyone join a club that has rules and regulations only to discover that most of these are optional depending on what the biggest creditors of such a club feel on any given day?

Great EU successes:

1) Letting countries join the euro despite not fulfilling basic economic entry criteria;

2) Letting countries join the EU despite not fulfilling basic and fundamental legal requirements.

Is it not curious that said countries were allowed to join simply because the Big Two (France and Germany) decided the rules didn't matter and then when the sh*t hits the fan, the chickens come home to roost (whatever), they squeal, they rant and rage against those who they themselves actually let in?

The EU is a great project for the peoples of europe, but why and where the hell do we get all these cretins who think they know better?

It is one thing to be wracked by external forces, i.e. the ever predictable market (in this case speculators), but to have the other boot stuck in by such rank incompetence and daydreaming b*ggers belief.

Who needs eurosceptics when you have these puffed up so called 'europhiles'.

Hopefully serb citizens will actually start to be more critical of their political leaders who all say joining the EU is like reaching the Emerald City.

It's like going though all the effort to join a decent football club only to find that your goalie has gone off to smoke a cigarette during the match, half the defense have groin injuries and the strikers are the only ones who go to ballet class and look pleased at themselves in the mirror and the wingers are just as suspicious of their own team as the opposition.

That's not the way it is my friend. Serbian operators have been restored. UNMIK controls that part according to 1244.

Someone has leaned on M. Kouchner and told him to stop behaving like the mad, over emotional, egotistical buffoon that he is.

Notice how he still gets his little jibe in about using Kosovo transmitters... nothing has changed, he's just been reined in. He's still as serbophobic as ever and wallows in any adoration given to him.

"He also said that it was “not good” that the Kosovo authorities had decided to remove the transmitters of the Serbian phone networks."

Exactly that! That stupid and unneeded move only brought more trouble.

It sounds like a totally new Kouchner is speaking now. What happened to him?

Rational and clever guy. Period. (no other comment needed)
