"Jeremić also said that Serbia and Croatia should overcome their differences within their relations and solve them the way France and Germany did it, but that one should know which of the two was “France, and which Germany”. "

My god i think he wants to put on a moral fight to say that Serbia was the France and it was not at fault, This is why no one in the region likes the Serbs, you think you can act like the Nazi's and then blame your neighbours.

Give a decade and you will pay the price, Kosovo and Croatia are going to get you back (diplomatically means only offcourse) lol

We had to respond in order to prevent further destruction of our state interests. We did it cautiously using diplomatic means. I believe that we were successful because neither the economy nor citizens felt anything," Jeremić told the state broadcaster RTS.

He pointed out that giving in to any of those steps would result in an "avalanche" of similar moves by other states.

Ha, ha, ha... this is laughable. So, according to Jeremic, China (for example) does not recognize Kosovo because it's afraid of Serbia's response.

Come on Jeremic, don't be so naive !

serbia's response(s) to everything that has recently transpired in kosovo/a are anything but diplomatic (i am agreeing with the first 3 posters.) they are desperate, pathetic and always heavy-handed. presumably they are for domestic consumption. but i cannot believe that they have garnered intl respect for serbia, except perhaps with diaspora community members.

there need to be negotiations -- there need to be compromises, there needs to be communication. again and again i have agreed with that. but it has to happen in a context of respect, and recognition. so far, this has not happened.

so much progress could already have occurred in the balkans. but jeremic and co. insist on maintaining a "frozen" conflict. it will ultimately turn against them.

thanks.

What is Jeremic realistically trying to achieve? Obstructing further recognition of Kosova's independence, hostile attitude towards countries which have support Kosova's independence, and by annoying the Kosova's Albanian's with their political attitude is "trying to protect its soverignity". Does it add up all this?

Jeremić also said that Serbia and Croatia should overcome their differences within their relations and solve them the way France and Germany did it, but that one should know which of the two was “France, and which Germany”. Thank you Jeremić for the half baked geography lesson. We know witch ones are France and Germany do you. The River Rhine separates France and Germany. The river Danube separates Serbia and Croatia thats about it. Are you sure that he is the Serbian foreign minister or some ones nephew who needed a job.

By God, Mr Jeremic is digging his own (career) grave and risking Serbia's dignity. How can one FM of a respectable country have no control over his mouth? Just yesterday met with the Finnish FM, before that with Merkel of Germany, Turkey's FM, French Kouchner, Hillary, and others. Dacic is in US, Tadic just came from Slovenia. All countries that recognize Kosovo. That's so much about his "diplomatic principles". By reacting to CG decisions you just turned a staunch natural ally into a fable one.

Respond is fine. It is the duty of any civil servant for its nation. But respond without strategy, without a goal to achieve something and respond spending so much time any unnecessary efforts for me is equal to zero. It is pity to loose so much energy, resources and even your own intelligence for something irreversible. If Serbia would have reckognised Kosovo, they will me most respected and equal partner not only in the Balkans. But this is my opinion thinking out of the box
