Kosovo lives off foreign aid – there are no industries in Kosovo; there is nothing. So any armies or large police force is paid for by foreign aid money. If you really think that the US/EU are going to create an Albanian army in Kosovo and pay for it then you had better think again

You see Hans it’s getting a little difficult in Kosovo because after 11 years of living in freedom and democracy little has changed for the Albanians – in fact large numbers moved to Kosovo from Albania in 1999 just after the bombing hoping to see the US pave the streets of Pristina in gold. When they get tired of these empty promises the US/EU put on a little show to look as if progress is being made, but its nothing – its all talk.

Carrying increasing debt, well Serbia is no alone on that front because so does the UK, US and most EU countries including Greece and Germany.

It's amazing how eastern Anatolians who settle in Europe on the coat tails of Turks need to associate with cultures and myths they have nothing in common with. Anybody else can tell you that all their customs, appearance, mentality and culture are still there in their ancestral lands for all to see today. The Turks resettled them in Rashka but that's about all.

All those 'Ilyrians' and not one Iliya amongst them.
(Rashan, 4 February 2010 14:21)

I couldn't agree with you more Rashan. I mean look at the ALbanian name for Srbica in Drenica. They call it skenderaj which is clearly a Turkish word.

I guess its just a case of big brother (Turkey) looking out for little brother (K-Albs).

My God you’re behind the times. It was the US that gave Saddam the gas to use against the Kurds not Yugoslavia - in fact it was Donald Rumsfeld that was shaking hands with the great undemocratic one in the 1980s.

There will never be a KDF; yes granted the EU/US will make some gestures and noises, but there will be no Kosovo army – what do you think that they are stupid? This army can quite easily turn on them.

Then who or what is going to pay for this 8000 KDF and 9000 police? Kosovo survives on foreign aid. I amazed at how little you guys understand what is involved in running a country – it’s slightly different to running a cafe.

Please get this straight Turkey is irrelevant as a so called superpower. I keep on repeating the fact that it is incapable of defending itself from an angry mob of wild geese 10 metres outside its borders. The Kurds whipped the great Turkish army’s backside after it went into northern Iraq – dozens of Turkish soldiers were killed.

Ankara can sign any piece of paper it likes, but that’s all it is, a worthless piece of paper.

You should not forget that this "superpower of the Balcans" was utterly defeated by Serbia,Greece and Bulgaria in 1912.
If it weren`t for the Brits who threatened intervention Istanbul would be conquered by the Balcan allies.

Negotiation will target the integration of North of Kosovo within FULL soverignty of Republic of Kosovo IN SUCH A WAY that Serbian government 'wont' lose face.

What is Dardania? What is Illyria? Who even believes this?
(milan, 3 February 2010 23:19)

Apparently mostly nationalist serbs choose to disbelieve it because it suits for their dreams of greater serbia.

"We know that Turkey made great mistakes in allowing Illyria/Dardania to be divided into several pieces (with/out its will).

If it wasn't for Turkey, Belgrade would have been part or called North Albanian province. Nevertheless that is past, however, Turkey was and still is the superpower of the Balkans, and their help is greatly appreciated. "

Did you piece this "history" together by reading chewing gum wrappers or is based on something you made up?

What is Dardania? What is Illyria? Who even believes this?

Sj,

FYI, Kosovo Police has already more than 9000 agents and they're very correctly paid and no doubt far more prfessional than serbian ones...

And as to running a country, my Godness, yes we all should learn from Serbia handling its Banruptcy and its dramatically increasing Debt...

Yes, they are paid .... from money from the West. Don't be too sure that this will not dry up in time.

As for your looking for a teacher in bankruptcy and dramatic debts, I wouldn't learn from your US masters if I were you! http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/

I couldn't agree with you more Rashan. I mean look at the ALbanian name for Srbica in Drenica. They call it skenderaj which is clearly a Turkish word.

I guess its just a case of big brother (Turkey) looking out for little brother (K-Albs).
