But he is too old and too blind to understand the democracy.

You've got the wrong Irinej Ben, this one is relatively young and is actually a native of the USA. He is a highly intelligent personality, who has mixed with US presidents amongst other notables. I have had the pleasure of hearing him speak on occassions.
Suggest you get your facts straight next time.
One more fact for today: Kosovo is Serbia!

“It has nothing to do with politics.Kosovo is the cradle of our church and as such he wants to protect it from animals…”

If Serbia is (theoretically) a secular, democratic nation, concepts like “our church” should not exist. Western European concepts of civillity are still alien to Serbia, which in a manner similar to Russia still mourns the loss of its former empire…

If Serbia recognized Kosova's independence the Albanians will go out of their way to protect the Serb religious institutions and the Serb minority but as things stand now Serbs from Serbia proper and those in Kosova on BG's payroll are hellbent on sabotaging any development in Kosova that will strengthen its sovereignty and amegliorate the lives of its citizens.

K- albanians already burnt down and destroyed alot of religious institutions!

The Church shouldn't get involved with politics. They should stick to religion as that is what they do. Leave politics to the politicians.

Any Serb here care to explain what is a man of God doing meddling with politics? Is this not a clear provocation? And based on this statement should we not then view his inauguration in Kosova as a political gathering?
(johny, 27 January 2010 19:00)

I can explain it easily for you.It has nothing to do with politics.Kosovo is the cradle of our church and as such he wants to protect it from animals that blow up and urinate on our churches.God bless Kosmet.

You all repeat the same thing. Provocation, provocation and more provocation. It seems that every time a Serb dares to speak it's provocation to you guys and becomes fair game.

Are you going to call for Irinej's blood too? You have said that Serbian churches are fair game because they a provocative towards Albanians. Is this man going to get a fatwa on his head?

With friends like you kosovo doesn't need ennemies at all. I guess you are a true representative of some low level nationalistic blogers that know how to destroy an already ternished image, well done!
But you are right the hole in which kosovo is in isn't deep enough, so be our EU guest and digg it further!!

Ben, thanks for the democracy lesson, didn't know that destroying churches was part of a democratic process, I must have had missed a chapter... will definitely call upon our foreign minister to ask her whether democracy has a different meaning in Kosovo than in Switzerland

The albanians tried to erase any sign of Serbian culture but failed. Serbia must never recognize an independent Kosovo. If we do the albanians will get the green light to finish the job of destroying what they couldn't destroy up until now. After WW2 we should realize that albanians can not be trusted.
(Mikael C, 27 January 2010 19:03)

This sense of victimhood perpetrated by the church and the BG elite for their own benefit is the symptom of a people that still hasn't come to terms with the wrongs and crimes it committed upon others.

Much like Russia, Serbia suffers from a mix of politics and religion and it is detrimental to the national psyche to have such a dangerous mix in today's world.

The Albanians have no other choice but to view that behavior as provocative and will respond appropriately in return. It seems that the only way forward for the two peoples is unfortunately total separation and segregation.

"Kosovo is marked by Serbian symbols and will always belong to the Serbian people."

While you talk about abstractions such as symbols, metaphors, epithets, hyperbolas, oxymorons etc etc. ;we can respond with reality and facts. More than 90% of Kosova's inhabitants are Albanians; not Serbs. Tell this to this leader of the Serb radical party who hides his true identity under a beard and the robes of the priests and who instead preaching peace, incites violence.

“admit on its own to its participation in the war in order to clear things up once and for all”

Political statements by senior Serbian orthodox church clergy might be taken more seriously if they prefaced any talk of regional reconciliation from WWII with an admission and apology for the numerous incidents and acts that legitimized ethnic cleansing and war criminals. Unlikely, though, hell will probably freeze over first.

It is the peaple of Kosova that WANT that independence.

He's understanding is based only on force.

But he is too old and too blind to understand the democracy.
