they are called "freedoms fighters" or "seperatists."

They are called "bandits" in Russian language. No objections here, in particular that many are linked to narco and kidnapping "business". Sounds "deja vu" for you probably.

But in this particular case I am sceptic about Chechen bandits being involved because some things aren't logical. I do not trust the investigation 100% either.

I am just curious why are they always called "Chechen separatists?" Should they not be labelled as "Chechen terrorists?" If an attack happens to americans then they are "terroists," but when it happens to anyone else then they are called "freedoms fighters" or "seperatists."
