More lies and nonsense from this communist turned nationalist Mesic. These were Croat soldiers who were guilty of disgusting attrocities against Serbs (Vukovar was full of Croat military) who simply went to the hospital and pretended to be wounded civilians to try to save themselves.
If Mesic wants to talk about a planned ethnic cleansing of the entire Serb population of Croatia, then he should talk about Operation Storm. This is genocide, REAL genocide, comitted by the Croats once again in the same century, and they again went unpunished thanks to their German friends in the EU.

Well, that may be true but lets not forget that many premeditated crimes were committed by all sides, NATO included, during those dark days.

The finger pointers do no good for peace and reconciliation while is seems that only Serbia has maintained its true multi ethnic structure.

but he is not saying the expulsion of hundreds of thousand of Serbs from their lands was not planned. this guy is a joke and if dont know this but the region of krajina is Serbian land in history and its on paper that it is just like istra was Slovenian lands, and we will take this to the international court to show the krajina region was and is Serbian lands. we want all people to return and get full autonomy in the region of krajina . its time for all Serbs to speak and enough listening and same goes for vojvodina .

The HDZ did everything in their power to ignite the war in Vukovar and the surrounding communities. They drew first blood and destroyed peace agreements that would have formented war. I think the Nationalist Mesic was complicit with this.

Does he think that the platoon simply goes out of the base in the morning, walks around, looking at things until they pick a target by drawing straws or flipping coins? Or perhaps is it that every single modern and ancient military is commanded and these commands are a direct result of previous planning? Perhaps he could also say that the 1991 revolution of Slovenia and Croatia were planned.
Now the nature of the outcome was certainly not planned, but more likely ignored and considered as collateral damage. Remember its only collateral damage if you win, otherwise its mass murder, but they are both exactly the same thing.

Vukovar was defended in the most honourable way. The assault by air land and water, from afar, was as cowardly as strapping a belt of explosives onto yourself and walking into a crowded market. Military institutions have used the defence of Vukovar as an example of how to defend a town. No military is teaching its soldiers the strategies used by the JNA and serbian paras. Unless, of course, they are teaching how to fight a loosing battle or the best ways to go AWOL while in battle.
