Keep in mind that Croatia will have access to the EU's Structural Funds and to the Cohesion Fund after it becomes a member.
(Mircea, 11 November 2009 17:50)

I can see the monumental changes made in the former communist countries now part of EU. Twenty years after the fall of communism and nothing has changed, still begging for handouts just like in 1989 with economies on the verge of bankruptcy. Meanwhile, every night politicians are telling their constituents how better off they are now than before.

If you think that the structural fund is a pot of gold, well that’s correct but it’s at the end of the rainbow, and all you have to do is find it.

Yes, indeed. Let's have a referendum on Kosovo independence. In the whole of Serbia of course!

On this referendum: I think the Slovenes will say 'no' ...

Luigi: Plain and simple to much corruption to many foxes in the barn yard. They don't want to let us vote just to trust them their prerogative decisions and leave the levers of government in their grubby hands. They think that we voted for them to make the tough decisions to leave it at that and not to question them about what they are doing. Its government top down to the people it should be the reverse. Any way most of the politicians would not mind one bit if it was communist or monarchist or any thing were they have the supreme authority and not to be questioned by the peasants. Sad to say truly a big majority of pathetic bunch of politicians we have now are not trustworthy need to be swept out.

What they are doing is stabbing Croatia in the back. Didn't see this coming from Slovenia. After a solution is agreed upon by both parties now Slovenia goes back on its pledge to accept any outcome agreed upon by the arbitration comity. They will now call up a referendum if the arbitration comity comes with a solution they don't like. I am of the view that Slovenia should get access to the sea as they seek, but to do this is very deceitful.

If I were a Croat the only thing that I would want to do with the EU is feed them fish, scan their credit cards and be a gentleman to their ladies. To the Slovenes I would wish wealth, prosperity and many vacation days. Lenard, resist. Let them not deliver you into EU slavery, and we Serbs will resist ours from delivering us as well. However, if you want us Serbs to vacation in Croatia, all conscious
Croats would have to make quiet Thomson's mouth, and address Croatia's Nazi ghosts by using the German example. Many expanded Croats--which history overlooks--have resisted the Nazis and suffered their wrath like all who resisted them. And it's the memory of them that should be honored in the names of your streets and parks and not the memory of Nazis. Like I've said before,it's not so much the ideological implication that the Nazi Croats project to the world, but it's their psyche and soul as well, which could have only originated from the place where the darkness was.Fortunately, underneath all of our illusions we are all innocent, we are all the same, and we all come from the same Source. If we
can learn to love the one Thing that we all are--Source will take care of the rest.

Wow! Perhaps this is the solution for Kosovo as well. Let the people in all of Serbia vote whether Serbia should change its borders in the South and grant Kosovo independece.

Lenard,

Croatia needs the EU in order to develop from an economic point of view.

Keep in mind that Croatia will have access to the EU's Structural Funds and to the Cohesion Fund after it becomes a member.

@Mr.Lenard
We all know that EU is not that popular in your country (40% yes )so why don't you ask for a referendum? is it so difficoult to take the signs? Does your costitution oppose it ?...
Anyway all the Croats i know are for the membership although they are not very enthusiastic...

Lenard

They believe that the citizens will confirm this in the referendum. Hope they reject it so we Croatians can be free of the EU enslaved camp. Also our nonsense politicians can shut their yaps and stop telling us what is good for us. That they will decide for us Croatians because we cant make the right decision, what bunch of moronic politicians.
