It depends how you see it.
Croatia has a GDP of 350Bn(from the same article that you posted) while Serbia has a mere GDP of 42.2 Bn.(Search for Economy of Serbia in the same link)

In other words Croatia's debt is only 12% of its GDP while Serbia's debt is twice that, at almost 23%.

Obviously economics and finance is not your forte.

The Serbian GDP is some 42 billion euros. This means public debt is some where around 23% of GDP and most of it is held to people with in our country.

So to the Raiba character. Now doom and Russia does not "own us."

Learn the fact.

Debt is a double edged sword. It can be good if used for infrastructure building, but if only used to pay pensions etc, then the lifespan of a country is limited. For your information Croatia’s foreign debt actually 57 billion Euros for a population of 3.5 million people.

I don't know whether the figures you quoted are correct, but even these are a drop in the bucket compared with Uncle Sam's --> http://www.federalbudget.com/

I do agree however that it would be good for Serbia to spend within her means, even if it means having to make unpopular sacrifices. Debts invariably carry huge interest payments for your children to bear, and there's always the danger of default when repayment obligations overwhelm a country.
