My favourite aprts showing how desperate G-17 Plus is to be viewed at positively in the media is how they've gone agaisnt principals they stand for.

These parts are interesting:
* B92 has learned that the OSCE mission analysts believe that the main shortcomings of the proposed changes include a ban on founders' rights to transfer ownership over media, which limits rights to property, which in turn constitutes one of the pillars of the free market.
* Announced shutting down of media whose accounts have been blocked for over three months, and fines against owners who do not comply are contrary to the European Convention of Human Rights, and are especially unacceptable during the economic crisis.

This party represents themselves as being some kind of free marketers (although they are in actuality neo-liberals, prided themselves in it until their policies failed). Yet they deviate from free marker theories.

The second part is ironic since some of their members have hinted at using funds to help stuggling businesses, but here they don't want to seem to apply it to media critical of G-17 Plus.

I guess if a court orders accoutns frozen during a lawsuit G-17+ wants this rule used ot shut down media.

Convenient for them given that they and their members have been in lawsuit with the Kurir newspaper, the tabloid arguable being the most critical of the party, consistently for the last few years.

"There is no law that particularly influenced this date. The result of the Aug. 31 vote will be the same as if the vote were held earlier."

^ Then why delay the vote. Honestly, she must believe people are stupid. The government would fail so they want to delay it by a month or get some minor non-government parties to support it. The title of the article says it all "ruling coalition turns to opposition LDP."

In addition to the above, this following statement of the article shows how stupid certain politicians think we are.

Quote: G17 Plus Vice-President and Whip Suzana Grubješić on Friday stated that the agreement reached by the DS, LDP and G17 Plus implies adoption of the present draft on amendments to the Law on Information, "without amendments", and to complete a set of media laws that would be adopted during the regular fall session of the Serbian parliament.

If this were true then there would be no reason for any additional laws. The simple fact is knowing the LDPs stance ( they are against this law ) and the fact that LDP acts upon it's promises and principles the "additional laws" will essentially negate the one G-17 Plus is pushing.
