"Govt. thinks of Russia after no one would help"

As the government works flat out to extract financial aid from Russia, the DSS says the government “has remembered Russia“ only because it has no other option.

Russia is ripping serbia off, while USA has just paid $150 million of Kosova's debt.

If we have to be vassals, we'll choose the west!
(Albanes, 30 June 2009 17:43)

Thats a drop in the ocean my Albanian friend. Besides Serbia benefits as Serbia inherited Kosmet's debt as its the legal owner to the province.

Oh yes, the US is nearly $10 trillion dollars in debt and is printing money so fast that there is smoke coming out of those printing machines. The US dollar and its economy is going down the tubes at an alarming rate with hyper inflation and bankruptcy only around the corner. They have even started to issue the IOUs

Meanwhile over in the real world, the US dollar is to become the world's toilet paper.

Take it away Mr Max Keiser :)

'I wonder how Americans feel about being poorer by $150 million! Especially those who are jobless and/or homeless.'

Since there are 300+ million Americans, this works out to something less than 50 cents each. I think we can handle it.

Total foreign aid amounts to about 1% of the total budget (although the notoriously ill-informed Average American traditionally responds "around 20%" when asked), so there's really no need to get worked up about this item driving the U.S. into debt. We've definitely got to get the economy growing again, but not because of what Kosovo is costing. The total amount is probably on the order of a rounding error.

Do you honestly think that $150 mill is a lot of money for anyone?
US is broke. They depend on China to keep them going. Don't expect any help from them. They are there to make money, not lose money. Kosovo will repay that pissy little amount 1000 times over in the natural resources that will be ripped out.

Russia should not give a single penny. After the elections and after Tadic and his gang are removed from power than Russia should help.

Serbias path must lead to Russia

'The real question then is why Russia doesn't give more aid to Serbia as EU does.'

They probably considered that buying NIS was enough of a donation for one year.

And as for the $150 million from the U.S., it - plus a $150 gift from the World Bank - went to paying off Kosovo's share of the Yugoslav debt at the WB, meaning that Serbia is actually the one to benefit. (You're welcome.)

One does not lend money because of alturism. One lends money to make a profit.

Aid is something else. The EU knows its donations of aid mean it will be favoured.

The real question then is why Russia doesn't give more aid to Serbia as EU does.

Serbia should ask China for a billion dollar loan. And recommend that the Chinese
1) cash in some of their us treasury notes to finance the loan and
2) instruct the us to send the money directly to Serbia.

Serbia can use the money to buy non-us goods and services.
Imagine how funny that would be: Serbia grabs a billion dollars out of the us economy and the us can do nothing about it!

Just like any other country in the world, when looking at economy during this current crisis, surely it makes good economic sense to look for support from more than one source? Why is everyone now implying that this is in some way a bad move on the part of the government? Or is it just making negative comments for the sake of making negative comments?

and what if Russia behaves like the western "partners" of DS and says: money? yes, no probs, serbia just has to wote correct on the elections ...

have our self-declared "economic-experts" thought about that possebility?

for years russians have been stopped to invest in serbia (as best offer) by the very same people that crawl now, why in god´s name should russia help?

would you lend money to a government that doesn´t care in any way about own/serbian interrests, as we saw (selling out of the non-occupied parts of kosmet, selling out of the republika srpska just to let a fool from EU play grand-vezir instead of shortening him to reality like dodik did with lajcak).

i - as a serb - wouldn´t lend tadic money, why should Russia ???

because boris has such beautyful eyes ???

Ukrainians (yet another Slavic nation) was also lauded for crying that "EU has no alternatives" - and where they are now ? In deep ... They broke friendship with Russia, and tried to make friends with EU instead - but all EU can do is talk. Europeans are greedy and egotistic whimps, they cannot be trusted.

As I always say-There is no love for Serbs in Europe, look somewhere else. No matter what Serbia does or not EU will aways adjust openion that suits them. Don't you see that you can't please them. Serbia is trying to be neutral and on good terms with everybody, but west want them to choose in order to keep them on them always under their thumb.

Well they make a good point... Europe being no alternative is such a stupid campaign slogan. But it is an effective one. Yet these actions clearly show that people do not know what they are talking about... where's Europe now?! Europe has always wanted to take advantage of us.
