Elliot, please do not presume to speak for all or even some of us in the UK. When you say that Kosovo has you as support please be clear that you are talking about you as an individual and not the rest of the UK. I live in the UK and I have been trying to read as much as I possibly can from as many different sources about the Kosovo story so that I can try to inform myself with balanced views. To date my considered opinion is that the declaration appears to have been illegal and that all the promises and rhetoric about the Kosovo Albanian's multi ethnic acceptance are, at best, laughable. I am deeply embarrased that the UK government had anything to do with the events that have unfolded in the region in recent years, notably the outrageous bombing of Serbia and the acceptance of the UDI. I read so much in the UK press about how bad the Serbs have been and how NATO came to the rescue of the Kosovo Albanians. I have also read countless independant articles that paint a very different picture and that astonish me as to how much manipulation of the facts various governments and press agencies are capable of. I am not, for one minute, suggesting that Serbia is without blame for some events that have occured, but I am suggesting that people in the UK deserve to be told more of the truth of what has happened on both sides of the disputes. So, again, I repeat, when claiming support for the UDI in Kosovo, please restrict it to yourself and do not include me in your claim. I am a UK citizen and very proud of that fact but I do not support the UDI and I do not agree with this county's governments behaviour. I or anyone else was ever given a vote in a referendum to decide whether these actions should have been carried out so our government never had a public mandate to act in that way. In just the same way as they went ahead and acted contrary to public opinion in Iraq. For too long we have been a US puppet. Hopefully, if all the facts are made available to all the people then some kind of sense will prevail and justice will be seen to be done with regard to the UDI. Until that time lets please try and have some balanced and considered postings in here please.

Is Jeremic doing exactly the same thing what he is preaching to others. He is puting pressure on other countries not to recognize Kosova and he has done a lot of frequent fliers just to put pressure. He is contradicting his own self on this one. But, he cannot stop the unstopable.

When a negotiator finishes a process without a solution acceptable to both sides, and then one side decorates him,” Jeremić said, “this is proof that he was not a neutral negotiator.”

But, Mr Jeremic it might be a case that a guy (in this case, Nobel prizewinner) is more realistic comparing to some who are still in “ecstasy”. So, you must settle down and revise your stance; eventually, coming up with a rational outcome, which will be to everyone’s benefit. There is no way back for Kosovo; because it’s been recognized by more than 60 states, just 10 years ago it experienced the harshest terror in the eve of 20’s century by Serbia. These are two more than obvious arguments that confirm my opinion. Aren’t they?

(Ian, UK, 16 June 2009 21:34)

Ian, Serbia is not powerful enought to pressure anyone so that's not what they are doing. Serbia is appealing to their sense of decency and international law.

As you can see 2/3 of the world is responding in the way which is lawful and decent.

US is going by might is right nonsense.

Jeremic is a bad joke. What Jeremic call "pressure" to countries to recognise Kosova we call it diplomatic efforts. At the end of the day Serbia is doing the oposite. If you can't see that it means either you don't want to see it or you are blind. Serbia is saying that to put the countries that haven't recognise yet Kosova "on the spot". In other words "if you recognise Kosova you haven't got the guts of acting as an independent country". Anyway that is the Serbian "logic" or nonsense.

Any more "diplomatic victory" coming soon?

Couldn't agree more but it was obviously engineered that way from the very beginning just like the ICTY.

What matters is the A plan needed UNSC approval and it didn't pass so he can accept whatever medal he wants for his failure.

What a disgrace when america has to pressure other countries' governments into recognizing the theft of Serbia's territory. That's real great democracy.

At UN albright used to walk around tables and say into ears of different countries' representatives, "do you want america as your friend or Serbia?" This is how they accomplish their goals.

I feel it is about time to post the definition of Hyperbole so that users may understand what they are reading:

"Hyperbole is a figure of speech which is an exaggeration. Persons often use expressions such as "I nearly died laughing," "I was hopping mad," and "I tried a thousand times." Such statements are not literally true, but people make them to sound impressive or to emphasize something, such as a feeling, effort, or reaction."

That's what Jeremic is doing. Every time he is involved in something he makes it sound that something very important is about to happen. This meeting is not that important and I am very certain most people present will yawn when Jeremic gives his speech. This is a procedural meeting that will produce nothing.

I think this guy is asking for trouble. He cannot do anything to stop the other countries to recognize kosovo, but i,am 100% sure he is, making he,s own plp look very thick indeed...Kosovo has the call not serbia, you know why? because they have us. the United Kingdom, USA,Germany,France,ect.. these countries are the ones who rule the planet..

Just like the US is putting pressure on countries to recognize their failed project of an independent K_Albanian Kosovo, so has Jeremic and Serbia the right to counter that effort. Actually, Serbia has a bigger right, Kosovo belongs to her.

“We will insist on discussing the situation on the field, on looking in the eyes the hardships that the non-Albanian population faces,” Jeremić said.

hardships facing non-albanians??? in a multi-ethnic paradise called kosovo?? impossible!

I don't get it! Why force someone to recognize if the really don't want? Are those the democratic values of the West? Look at Montenegro and Macedonia who were pressured into recognizing Kosovo but don't want anything to do with it.
Does anyone really think this kind of behaviour will bring peace to the Balkans? The West, primarily America, Germany and the UK, are to blame for the Balkan wars.
Look at what these "democracies" have accomplished in Irak, Afganistan, India/Pakistan, Isreal/Palestein, South- and central America, Korea and now Kosovo.
