Your publication is well respected and you are extremely keen political observer regarding the issues in Bosnia.


There is no need to, emphasize, accentuate the religious affiliation of the Bosniaks as you do in your article. You do not mention religious affiliation of the Bosnian Croats or Serbs. We know that Bosniaks prevalent social dimension is a very secular.


Bosniaks—along with the Serbs and Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina—have their own distinct language, culture, and history. Referring to them as “Muslims” is not only imprecise, it denies them their existence as an ethnic group altogether.

While this may seem like a trifling distinction to the general reader, it is important to note that this imprecision has been intentionally exploited to commit acts of genocide against ethnic Bosniaks (see the February 2007 official judgment by the International Court of Justice at The Hague).
Calling Bosniaks "Muslims" was specifically designed the Balkans’ nationalists to lessen the sympathy other Europeans might feel for the plight of a "non-European" people.


However, your ethnic distinction is incomplete if you use ethnic terminology for two peoples (Croats and Serbs) but not for the Bosniaks. Instead you use religious, pseudo-ethnic term the Muslim(s) when you refer to the Bosniaks.

According to the CIA World Factbook, 40% of populations are Muslims, 31% are Orthodox Christians, 15% are Roman Catholics, and 14% are atheists or have other religious affiliation

There are many atheists in Bosnia (14% are atheists or have other religious affiliation-see CIA facts) and some of them are Bosniaks.

How would you call them, what would be the Bosniaks’ atheists ethnic background?...the Muslims?!
There is a strong correlation between ethnic identity and religion in Bosnia and Herzegovina.


This distinction is very important to us.
Give us that much, please.

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed!

Bosnikas is not an ethnicity, but a geographical location. There is no major difference between the 3. "Bosniaks" was created so they would not call themselves Serbs or Croats. They are Muslim Serbs or Muslim Croats in actuality. Sorry to break the news to you, but its the truth. The only difference between the 3 is their religon. People like you need to end your nationalism and realize that.

All Bosnians for the most part eat similar foods look the same, listen to the same music, dress the same, and act the same.

I wish there was a way we can test this scenorio. If you place three men together a Serb, Croat, Bosniak in a group and ask which is which you would be lucky to get it right!

Bosnian muslims are Serbs or Croats, they didn,t come from Mars.They speak the same language Serbo- Croation.The CIA population figures are way out of date, ther Serbs are the majority, the Croats have been squeezed out by the Bosniaks so much for a multi cultural state!. By the way the only Americans are the INDO americans who had thier nation buried at wounded knee.
