Mircea, doesn't Romania still have many restrictions within the EU, such as travel and freedom to work? You are not really a fully fledged EU member like others right? I think even Switzerland (a non-EU member) has more rights within the EU than Romania. Bulgaria on the other hand is in an even worse position when it comes to funding.

So what has EU membership brought to your people apart from an EU badge you can now pin to your chest?

Serbia's economy grew 8.7% last year. The highest in the region and more than Romania. It just goes to show that we can do fine on our own.

Serbia needs the help of the EU in order to develop from an economic point of view. Serbia has no future if she remains outside the EU.

I think that all the countries of the Western Balkans should join the EU.

Those Serbs who are against EU membership should stop giving Norway and Switzerland as examples. One Serb on this site even gave Belarus as an example which made me laugh.

PRN: "Serbia's ideology is old, rotten and as such has become a cancer for the entire Balkans. Noboby from neighbours likes (or has good relations with) Serbia and neither it is wanted in the EU."

You really hate anything to do with Serbs or Serbia, don't you?

This just sounds like a child in the playground saying "nobody even likes you anyway, so you're not allowed in the club..."

It belittles any solid argument you may have.

What is there to talk about, when the tickets to the EU show have been sold out.

Or, maybe Mr Rehn wants to remind Serbia that he has a bag of treats and will share these treats if Serbia doesn't apply for candidacy this century. However, these treats will not be handed out because Serbia has yet to apprehend Mladic.

Therefor, Rehn just wants to remind Serbia that they are going to receive a big fat nothing.

Zero times zero equals zero!

There, i think i have solved Serbia's political shortfalls, in that Serbia should elect mathematicians to parliament.

Serbia's ideology is old, rotten and as such has become a cancer for the entire Balkans. Noboby from neighbours likes (or has good relations with) Serbia and neither it is wanted in the EU.

The best would be for Serbia to privatise the government, which will ensure the well being of civilians living under Serbian rule.

Western consulting consluting companies may apply along with the Albanian ones to bring Serbia near NATO and the EU, and improve economic political uncertainties.

Serbia should set a precedent for the 21st century, on which other may benefit too.

Dear Mr. Olli Rehn,

Thank you for helping Romania to join the EU. The people of Romania are grateful to you. I am proud to be a citizen of the EU.

Long live the European Union!
