President Obama seems to be just as arrogant as Bush.
He expects America to lead once more. Who wants them to lead? Who needs their leadership?

Has he asked the world if they want America to tell them how to live? NO, he is simply telling the world that nothing has changed and America will be in charge again.

So much for that change which he promissed his people.
Maybe his own people are sick and tired of "American leadership" around the world and just want to mind their own business.
This does not look like a second term is likely.

"The key passage was this: "And so to all other peoples and governments who are watching today, from the grandest capitals to the small village where my father was born: know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman, and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and we are ready to lead once more." Wonderful stuff; but the catch comes at the end. America may be ready to lead "once more" but what if the world is no longer ready to follow? What if it believes America has forfeited much of its moral right to lead over the last eight years, no longer has the power that it used to, and that anyway we are moving towards a global multipolar system, as Washington's own National Intelligence Council predicts?"

I am so amazed. My sentiments exactly! I am so surprised that I actually agree with Ash in this entire paragraph.

Much of the world is in an economic mess, no thanks to the US and the toxic financial instuments that it feeds others to finance its wanton overspending. And don't expect the world to forget this lesson or the culprit in a hurry.

The US will try to dominate the world again. Old habits die hard. But the Yankees are destined to be disappointed, yet again.
