What does this statement have to do with anything: "Serbian citizens please grow up we were all Catholics once"? This article had not one word regarding Serbia, yet you felt it was your perogative to inform us of your ignorance. I'm extremely happy that you yourself are a Protestant. That is exciting, however WE were not all catholic before. Let me introduce you to timelines of history. The Eastern Orthodox Church is the precursor to the Roman Catholic Church. Constantinople, now Istanbul, was the head of the Chirstian Church. Then there was the scizm seperating the church into Orthodox -- noting that Orthodox mean "following the established or traditional rules" -- and Catholic Church. Orthodox's center stayed in Constantinople (Istanbul), and is still there today, while Catholosims center was located in Rome. It was not until after that that the Protestants wanted their own center. So please before you spout more incorrect rubish, learn something.
Next, now that you've decided to walk the plank, since effectively borders do not exist within the EU, why should Slovania back away, why not Croatia, since there will be no effective borders once they enter the EU. Isn't that their goal, and not the thousands of hectars that is in dispute? If Croatia wanted the EU bad enough it would sacrifice (in their minds it would be sacrificial anyways) this tiny swath of land.
Now I must agree with you, when I visited the Balkans a few years back the Croatian border guards were very professional, but I didn't find a lack of prefessionalism of the broder guards along any of the other borders, though again I'm not sure what the relavence of quality of border guard's professionalism has to do with the article, but good on you.
Lenard, I'm not informed enough to understand, or even guess at, why you think that Slovenia is on the "naughty" list. However, if you and your fellow Croats feel that "they will yous the hypocrites in the EU blackmail mafia", why on earth would you want to join the group? Or maybe consider this a small price to pay to allow you to join the group and become yourselves hypocrites... Tempting, maybe. However, I see nothing wrong with Slovenia's initiative. They have a problem that they want to see solved, which is percieved stolen land, and Croatia has a problem that it wants to see solved, which is current non-membership within EU. Both problems could be solved. See this is how the politicing game works. Slovenia beat you to the party and now they will help you in, but you need to help them first. Don't worry, everybody will see anybody in the game of politics. You're just disapointed that you're not the ones in control. It'll work itself out one way or another, but Slovenia is not at all in the wrong here. They have the upper hand in this situation and it would be inappropriate not to use it. Thats all.
