Its great to live in a pluralistic society when all members of it do not care what your race or religion is. But Islam has no place in a pluralistic society and it is evident when it touches another other faith in the world, Catholic, Orthodox, Protestants, other Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists.

No doubt nationalism was key to the break up of Yugoslavia, the west stood by and acted as a force multiplier. By recognizing succession of Republics, we fanned the flames of nationalism. If BiH was not rewarded for a war of succession, the KLA would not have moved and been emboldened in hopes of western support.

Once again the root cause of it all is . . you guessed it Islamo-Fascism.

Nationalism and Islam go hand in hand. Islam is what the Bosniaks refer to as their "nationality" since they don't have a true nationality like Serbs and Croats.

USA is not the country that split up Jugoslavia It was nationalist leaders in Croatia, Bosnia, etc (they would not dare live with people that did not call themselves the same nationality). The USA only helped dismantle Jugoslavia when they saw a chance.

There will never ever be peace in the Blakans. People are too ignorant to realize that they are all the same. You living in the states can see how ridiculous some of these people in the Balkans are. Living in the states you probably don't even know what religon your neighbors worship and that is the way it should be.

Gojko,

How can you respond to my statment by saying that nationalism is the cause and not a little thing that begins with "I" and ends with "slam", and in your second paragraph mention the obvious notion that Bin Laden is a principal supporter of Islamist movements in BiH and the Balkans.

Sure the west should have kept Yugoslavia together, my country (United States) is as guilty as any. But that still does not remove the obvious threat from a moment that is causing war from the Sudan, to Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel, Cyprus, Chechnya, Kosovo i Metohija, Bosnia, Macedonia, India, Philippines, French suburbs, Danish cartoons, the list goes on and on.

Muslims are not the common enemy, but nationalism. That is why Bosnia will eventually be torn apart. Serbs, Croats, and Bosniaks are identical people. They have different religons (nobodies business) and may have slight accents in their respective countries, but no major difference.

There is no reason why Jugoslavia could not have been a democratic country. They would have been a bigger power in the EU and in the world. Now they are tiny winy puppet states that will never amount to anything.

Marko,

They are probably getting a lot of their money from Bin Laden and his crew!

The Catholic Croats should not be upset by this, it is just an early praise for St. Patrick.

In all seriousness, I bet the croats and serbs have regrets that they as Christians could not have worked together in the conflict against a common enemy.

Wow Sarejevo must have a lot of money if it is going to paint city streets green; I wonder if it is recieving too much aid from the EU

Sarajevo Mayor Semiha Borovac said that painting the pavements and streets green would be good for the city, because the city lacked greenery.

There is enough greenery in Sarajevo considering 95% or more is Mulsim.
Serbs may not have the majority in Bosnia Federation, but have the majority of the land mass in Bosnia as a whole. Combined with Christian Croatians only about 30% of entire Bosnia is actually Muslim! They all live in central Bosnia and will lose the rest eventually.

Quoting from Alija Izetbegovic’s book The Islamic Declaration,
"... The first and foremost of such conclusions is surely the one on the incompatibility of Islam and non-Islamic systems. There can be no peace or coexistence between the "Islamic faith" and non- Islamic societies and political institutions. ... Islam clearly excludes the right and possibility of activity of any strange ideology on its own turf. Therefore, there is no question of any laicistic principles, and the state should be an expression and should support the moral concepts of the religion. ..."

Interesting piece on global jihad,"...Armed police closed in on an apartment on a rutted road in a village on the edge of the Bosnian capital Sarajevo."

Mayor Borovac, if the city lacks greenery, then plant trees and shrubs, this effort will benefit the environment.

Serbs are now only a tiny fraction of the 'Federations' population & so are no longer an 'issue', wheras croats make up nearly a quarter - hence they are now the principle targets of emerging ethnic intolerance in the entity.

Which is why the croatian NGO is kicking up a fuss about 'green' footpaths.

Is certainly 'stupidity' - just not the 'incompetent' variety.

it is not possible that anybody is that stupid to say that they painted concrete in green to make up for the grass and parks. it must be misquote. if it's a real quote, that's the main problem, stupidity, not the religous beliefs
