Blero, I can't continue this conversation with you. First you don't read what I write; you present no arguments (and, then accuse of not having); I know much more about history than you can imagine; I don't believe that you know more Portuguese soldiers in Kosovo, than I (I'm presume you met a lot of portuguese soldiers in your trips to Portugal!!); I work with many Americans and it's false that I don't like US. You're too naïve, Blero! Your blindness love for US shows that. American flags everywhere... street names... You are creating a state, new borders, when EU is going in the opposite direction. You have no control on current currency that you use. You'll depend for decades of EU and US. (In the last case, while you're useful to them.) It seems that in your excursions you've learnt nothing. Read newspapers, Blero! American ones, please… and there you’ll find things like: "The emperor has no clothes", "When are people going to face the reality? Pull this curtain back." "You know, God bless him, bless his heart, president of the United States, a total failure, losing all credibility with the American people on the economy, on the war, on energy, you name the subject". Take a look also to an Italian media “Mr. Solana is still saying that we are creating stability in the Balkans. I am not going to argue over the fact of Kosovo being independent, but the way this process was conducted goes in the direction of instability, and not stability.” “The situation here is not brilliant... We have maybe invested here in the worst way and we were not very careful with the money.” And so on...

This should produce some interesting results. People are now left with a straight choice. Take a passport that is not recognised by most of the world and will offer only limited travel opportunities (don't forget that even those countries that have recognised will be reluctant to grant visas to Kosovo 'citizens'), or take Serbian passports and enjoy widespread travel, including increasingly easy travel to the EU. The move by UNMIK may be cheered at first by K Albanians, but once the reality of this response to the new reality on the ground sinks in I doubt they will be so pleased.
(Jim, 24 July 2008 17:16)

Jim, don't worry, they can get Albanian passports, if they absolutely want to go to Cyprus or Slovakia. Albania is recognized, and the countries you talk about are giving visas less reluctantly to Albanian citizens. When Albania enters in EU, they will be able to travel in EU without visas too. But Kosovo may enter in the EU before Albania, judging by the politicians we have in Albania. In that case I will go to Pristina and apply for a Kosovo passport. A question for the Kosovo Albanians here: how is the law about Kosovo citizenship? Where can I find it?

I wonder if the EU can apply restrictions on how the candidate countries issue passports. Any lawyers here?

Anybody knows if the Serbian state is still giving passports to Albanians from Kosovo? In the event they ask for one, that is. Even though the Albanians are not contributing anything to Serbia right now, like taxes etc? Because "Kosovo is Serbia"?
Did Serbia ever re-issue the passports that were taken away from the Albanians in the spring of 1999, by the regime of Milosevic?

People usually use whatever means solve the problem to them. So, if for ex. somebody from Kosovo wants to go to China to buy stuff there and sell it back in Kosovo, they will use the Serb passport if they already have one, or get an Albanian passport if it is easier to get than the Serbian one. Or use the UNMIK passport if it is still accepted. It is like having dual or triple citizenship (without ever emigrating). Probably just dual citizenship, because I find it hard to believe that Serbia is issuing passports to the Albanians of Kosovo.

Carlos,

Who do you think is being the naïve one here (I would ad narrow-mindedness also)?
You dislike everything Albanian just because you dislike US.
Is that your only argument you can put forward?
Carlos, what do you know about Kosovo and Albanians?

Back to passports now Carlos:
Do you actually know anything about Kosovo?
How are the new Passports going to be any worst than the UNMIK documents?
Please Carlos, don’t make me laugh.
In the same way you add the testimonials of the Portuguese soldiers I can add the testimonials of the Portuguese I have met during my trips in Portugal and the Portuguese I have met in Germany, Switzerland, UK and Austria.
You know what Carlos, none of them would agree with you.

blero, blero, How can you be so naïve? We perfectly know what kind of court is The Hague one! Don't we?!
Please don't consider me as a Serbian or Pro-Serbian. Honestly, I felt safer in Vientiane, then in any part of the dreadful places where you live and I visited, from Ulcinj to the neighborhoods of Skpoje. But, my opinion is also based on the testimonials of Portuguese soldiers serving in Kosovo. You cant really imagine their opinion about the Albanese…
Your fake country is an invention an American sponsored by the worst European leaders in recent years (yes, including the head of EU, the well-known Portuguese Barroso). An invention which was able to put in power criminals, as the american history is full of examples: Cuba, El Salvador, Indonesia, Panama, Zaire, just to mention some. How many prisoners do the Americans have in Camp Bondsteel?! Do you know? Neither do we in Guantanamo base!
Now, going to Kosovo Passports… Do you have any idea how is difficult to get a visa for USA? Even for me, with a biometric passport, soon a new difficulty will arrive… Or even a visa for a Schengen visa for someone out?! Do you think that is easy or even cheap?! Why can't you realize this is a way to better control your entrance in EU space?!

"The judges said that they had serious difficulties in getting many of almost 100 witnesses to testify freely. They said that they had to permit 34 witnesses to hide their identities from the public, that 18 were subpoenaed because they refused to testify and that others said they dared not talk once they were in court." "Prosecutors complained repeatedly about pressure on the witnesses, saying that those most afraid were former rebel fighters who had been expected to testify as insiders. At least three designated witnesses were killed before the trial, prosecutors said." That's the kind of news that we read around here...

Dear Liam, Here, in this corner of Europe, we also don't forget some Albanian crimes…
(Carlos, Portugal, 25 July 2008 12:21)

Carlos, one question only if I could!

What are you talking about?
Ramush Harajdinaj went to Hague voluntarily; he did not hide under forged name and stolen identity.
He did not grow his beard and hair.
Now if there were facts about the alleged atrocities he would still be there.
If you seem to have had proofs about his actions, why didn’t you provide the information you had.

Also, if any future proofs of his conduct are discovered I can assure that every Albanian will happily see him (and anybody else involved in any crimes) back in court.
Until then Carlos, he is free and innocent. Or Carlos, should we take him back there just because you disagree with the Hague tribunal’s decision?

##################
Now back to the passport. Please guys do not feel sorry for us.
We will be ok with the Kosovo Passports.
I personally cannot think of any other state apart from the ones that have recognised us (and the ones that have not but will accept the passport) to go and visit. I thought of visiting China, but hey that can wait. You see it is not in my “must do list”.
Please pro-Serbian camp, can you name one state I should visit and cannot, and please don’t say Serbia or Russia.

Carlos, Portugal

Dear Liam, Here, in this corner of Europe, we also don't forget some Albanian crimes… Here, we would like to celebrate the condemnation of your compatriot Ramush Haradinaj. But we can't, due to some hypocrites politicians. And I'm really ashamed of the way this criminal was not condemned… But don't worry, in my country we don’t forget the Albanian criminals. Even if, “The commander, Ramush Haradinaj was found not guilty of murder, persecution, rape and torture of Kosovo Serb civilians”. Because “The case against Mr. Haradinaj was fraught with difficulties from the start. Western diplomats tried to dissuade Carla Del Ponte, who was the chief prosecutor, from indicting Mr. Haradinaj, arguing that he was a respected political leader who played an important role in stabilizing Kosovo.”

I have a hunch that the majority of normal people in Kosovo would prefer having a passport which is recognized by 192 countries(Serbia or Albania)as opposed to one which may or may not be recognized by 43 countries depending on each country's experience with illegal aliens and criminals from Kosovo....
(luciano, 24 July 2008 18:00)
I must disappoint you that, my friend, there are far more countries recognizing this passport than have yet recognized the Independence (neighbouring Macedonia and Montenegro as for start). It is an indirect sign that they in fact recognize Kosova, but have to wait for the right moment.

Mark (Shqype)

pre 15 godina

I find it funny how no matter what news you guys hear, you will always twist it into something negative.

Instead of worrying about the 43 countries that have recognized Kosova and the "limited travel opportunities" that Kosovars will face with others, you should worry about UNMIK legitimizing the passports (and indirectly, statehood) of the Republic of Kosova.

More recognitions will follow soon enough, don't worry!

Frankie

pre 15 godina

No matter how people view the new K-passports, they are legal documents accepted by at least 50 countries for the moment, with most of EU, US, Australia, Canada, Montenegro, and Macedonia accepting them. Who cares abour traveling to Zimbabwe or Belarus? If they are not recognized in Serbia, so be it. Then K-As might very well spend their money elsewhere, which by the way, they're already doing.

Bye bye Kosovo. And do not blame anyone but yourself, Kosovo was bought from your leadership with a speedy SAA and a promise to join EU. If you have any questions or comments, direct them to the Serbian leadership that sold Kosovo, not Albanians or USA.

So the K-Albanians have 3 passports now - Serbian, UNMIK and Disneyland with only the Serbian being of any use.

Well, Good Luck Kosovo Albanians on your own isolation. It is pretty much sealed now - just like they want it.

I have a hunch that the majority of normal people in Kosovo would prefer having a passport which is recognized by 192 countries(Serbia or Albania)as opposed to one which may or may not be recognized by 43 countries depending on each country's experience with illegal aliens and criminals from Kosovo. On the other hand a lot of rich people in those 43 countries are in desperate need of organ transplants.

papajon,
I am not interested to visit Rohdesia, Russia and Belarusia. Rest assured on this one.
But, you will be suprised how many more countries are cuing to recognize Kosova in short future.

The world is celebrating the arrest of the doctor of alternative medicine this week. Karadic has shamed Serbia. Mladic, who is celebrated by many as a soldier is in fact a coward, as he is afraid to answer for his actions. So, sneering at Kosovo passports is not a good idea. When the world is reminded of what Serbia did in Bosnia, and also in Kosovo, it will be also reminded of why Kosovo is independent.

dan

it is a lie from serbs that only countrys that have recognized kosovo as independent would accept the kosovo passports best example--->montenegro,macedonia which have already recognized the new kosovo passports!

I must disappoint you that, my friend, there are far more countries recognizing this passport than have yet recognized the Independence (neighbouring Macedonia and Montenegro as for start). It is an indirect sign that they in fact recognize Kosova, but have to wait for the right moment.

Interesting, but I don't understand some of the comments here. So for example how can K-Albs have also serbian pass as some of you are stating that with this pass they have more open doors? Didn't you guys before said that you don't want K-Albs moving around with your pass as they are putting bad image on the country, and affecting the visa liberalization? Or can they legally claim a pass from Serbia, or also from other ex-Yu countries ?

Can somebody explain this issue to me? I don't have a clue what is going on anymore in here... unmik pass, now k pass, and serbian pass, what is all this?

Cheers,

Jevic

Really strange. why they will stop issuing UNMIK passports where in fact they (UNMIK) and resolution 1244 are still in place. i guessed this new UNMIK chief is a LIAR also.

This is a great move by UNMIK. The K_Albanians will only be able to visit nations that have recognized their UDI. In the other 150 or so other nations in the world, the K_Albanians will see a closed door. Enjoy your K_Albanian tourists Germany, etal., and all the tourist Euros they will spend, NOT!

Well said. Jim #9...
I think the same. This is the way for EU to slowly isolate Albanians. Kind of, keeping them in check. It’s to obvious they don’t want them in there countries.

who cares if K-Albs get a Serbian passports as well to travel? Does that mean they accept Serbia as their state? NOPE.

Well Ahmet i see that cue that you said the countries waiting to acknowledge Kosovo but i have not seen this mass of countries step up where are they sir? PM Thaci said a 100 countries were waiting well some are still waiting on the fence alot of the muslim countries as well.

Jill there are some who carry both UNMIK and Serbian passport because most countries do not accept UNMIK so to work they apply or buy fake Serbian passports. Now i am waiting for contifetters who will try to do the new Kosovo passport.

Carlos, Portugal

blero, blero, How can you be so naïve?

Carlos, Portugal

pre 15 godina
