Terral: Serbia will one day have its place in the European Union. When it comes to the Kosovo issue, we are concerned about how to protect Serbia’s legitimate, historic interests in Kosovo. And that’s all. For us, as you already know, the question of its status has already been solved, and that’s all I can tell you.

That 'Serbia will be priority for France', is something the Serbs should be very worried about.
French main expert on Serbia is nobody else but Bernard Kouchner, the Sarkozy's minister of foreign affairs.
Serbs should remember him as the NATO's High Commisioner of Kosovo, who, after the pogrom of the Serbs, declared the event as an'understandable desire for revenge from the part of the Albanians'.
He will be in charge of convincing Boris Tadic that it was exactly so.
Let's see how long will that task take him.

Thanks for making it clear)
I am just wandering why Serbia should be treated differently to the other Western countries?
All western countries should be in EU and none have the right to block the entry of the other!

Dugi, the same applies to Serbia and the overwhelming majority of the world. The answer is a big "No" to Kosovo independence. It is irreversibly blocked at the UN by both Russia and China so status is not an issue for us - it has already been decided.

I don't know why you guys keep bringing it up. If you want to believe in independence then fine, go ahead. What's stopping you?

You see, the answer to that question is the reality on the ground and why the Albanians remain isolated believing in fairy tales. That's also why a functional partition is taking place.

The Serbians do not want to live in Disneyland so they are restoring links to Belgrade and back to reality.

Why do the Albanians have some much difficulty with that? Isn't it obvious by now that Serbians are not servants? We never have been and never will be - even if some sell-out leaders try otherwise, the will of the people will not allow it.

This is just more garbage talk from the people who killed innocent Serbs and made life for a lot of them unbearrable. Even if Serbia met all those demands, these "occupiers" will come up with some new demands. It's the same old broken record playing over and over.

The only thing these occupiers did is just ruin Serbia's economic progress, BUT they way they speak, they make it seem like they are here to help Serbia. It goes something like this, "we are here to help Serbia to help its people, Serbia just has to reach out and grab our hand bla bla bla." As if it's that easy...

Dugi,

the status has not been resolved but many like yourself would only wish it was. Of course those who act beyond the obligations taht they have to uphold UN resolution sthey formulated as well as all other international norms and laws such as France can only hope for a totally submissive and complict Serbia but it will never get that not even close to its minimal desires. Eventually you will comprehend the term "accepting the state your in" untill then look at the last 9 years of dissmal economic deprivation and comprehend nothing has change nor will change till status has been formally negotiated and accepted with a new UN resolution. Serbia has and will only ever formalise self rule for the etehnic-Albaninas in its province be it by yourselves or as you choose under "Feithless" tutelage but nothing more nothing less.

Why bother posting any more comments on the statues of Kosova. I guess my opinion can no longer be challenged

Mr. Terral! Serbia will enter EU with Kosovo as it;s southern province. whether the EUROcrats agree or not.

Dear Princip, I agree with you it seems that Tadic is already bought by the WEST due to his silence and to surrender kosovo to the NATO/KLA occupiers

Very well spoken by the French diplomat.

The status question is very well solved. The only problem is the defiant Serb community, only half of it, who is being toyed around by the radical parties in Belgrade for their own interests.

The Tadic government must do everything possible to make the radicals look irratic and unrealistic. The way to do that is by using all the means necessary to "defend Serbia's right to Kosovo" in the international scene, however since these attempts are certain to fail, then Tadic will indirectly give a message to all of Serbia that it is impossible to turn history back.

Once Tadic has used all possible peaceful means to "retain" Kosovo, and once all of them have failed, then the Serbs will be forced to accept that reality. It will be imposed to them by the world and Tadic will look like a hero that tried his best, gaining even more support.

And once he has all the newly found support, he will be able to finally recognize Kosovo, while securing a great deal of support for his dream of EU integration.

Well put.

This type of rhetoric is what Serbia NEEDS at the moment.

Show RED LINE on Kosovo
and GREEN LINE (with strings attched) on EU intergration.

Well done Mr. Ambasador

Serbia should not rest on unrealistic dreams (which are often fueled by Russia), but on the reality on the ground.

Kosovo is history.

Cheers

It's the same old thing, hand over Mladic, give us Kosovo and we will accelerate your journey to the closed door of EU membership.

Anyway, I can see lots of motivation here for the people to rise, first in Kosovo and then in the rest of Serbia!

Tick tock tick tock. What are the sell-outs thinking?

Princip, UK

With such Double Speak and Double Standards one comprehends why DS are favoured so much by EUcrats who clearly refer to partitioned Serbia when they say Serbia in the EU!

Can also understand the haste in DS wanting a government formed as soon as since each and every day the Eucrats seem to become more brazen in their message that only a Serbia without Kosovo is their perspective. Tadic's silence is alarming to say the least and now can only be comprehended as complicit in this "indecent proposal" that is being formulated step by step believing the Serbian populace will be blind to it!
