Why is anyone surprised that this happened? The Albanians have been driving out all non-Albanians for Decades. Their state is one of the most ethnically pure in the world. They answer an injustice with a typical Albanian response, well so and so did so and so 100 years ago so we have the right to kill, bully and rape who ever we want! Why won't an Albanian say it was wrong, no excuses, learn from it and work on becoming a more tolerant society? When you guys stop the ethnic cleansing and elect politicians who have no ties to criminals the world will respect you.

srboslav: "Should Kosovo albanians refuse entry to Kosovo for albanians from FYROM and Montenegro aswell?"
Yes. They are responsible for the attitude of the state in which they live. If they want to change this, let's try, as we did on 1998-99.
While Solana is a represantative of a very respectful institution EU.

Question for Luli Vushtrri:

Should Kosovo albanians refuse entry to Kosovo for albanians from FYROM and Montenegro aswell?
Neither of them have recognized Kosovo.
Should Javier Solana be denied entry also?

And there we have it folks. A Montenegrin gets arrested for being a Montenegrin.

So much for the Albanian irredentists on here who spout about the great protection that minorities have in their Disneyland state.

Meanwhile in Belgrade 100,000 + Albanians live in harmony with their Serb, Hungarian, Bosniak, Croat, Jewish, Slovak, Slovene,Macedonian etc, etc neighbours.

Even in Nothern Kosmet Albanians live side by side with Serbs.

Hang on a second shouldnt the Serbs be ethnically cleansing their non Serb neighbours, burning down their churches, synagogues & mosques.

Nope, thats not happening. Even in downtown Belgrade (the home of the evil Serbs who continually oppress their minorities) you can pick up a Macedonian burek, washed down by hot Turkish coffee, served to you by a Bosniak waiter while you mull over your Albanian phrasebook.

Truly remarkable.

and then get busted by a Hungarian cop for J-walking...

which I did :(

A typical example of reciprocity. Kosovo should ban the entrance in Kosova, of the citizens which countries have not recognized the independence of Kosovo.

Well done KPA!
You should have fined and jailed him as well and then deported him out of "Kosova"

Don't allow any kind of nationalistic expressions other than Albanian! Be rough on minorities!

Keep on showing the world and EU your true face!

But please, don't seriously expekt Montenegro to regognize you anytime soon... Probably never

So, after a coiple of rough nut jobs harassed him (there's coppers everywhere in the world like that), "other policemen apologized, and begged him not to file a complaint against them. He will now go ahead and file a complaint against the Kosovo police and the night club for "damaging of reputation and causing ethnic and religious intolerance."

And that's after wearing a Montenegro cap around in the middle of Pristina in a nightclub packed with Albanians.

Wow, and I'd been led to believe that anyone so much as opening their mouth to speak a Slavic word gets immediately killed by Albanian thugs or locked up behind barbed wire.

This guy, "the leader of the recently founded Association of Kosovo's Montenegrins", went into a nightclub asking for trouble. He found trouble.

Now, I would guess, the leader of a minority association, especially a recently founded one, would have as his first priority the improvement of the condition of its people, not going into nightclubs to wave his insignias into other people's faces. But considering the endless shrill laments about the "minority situation" in Kosova, "incidents" like this put everything into perspective, don't they?

papajohn

Nik, the story is about a man wearing Montenegren insignias, not Serbian. Would K_Albanians harrass a person wearing American or German paraphernalia? Seems this angry cop is bitter because CG has not recognised the Albanian Kosovo attempt to create a state. Keep up the good neighborly relations, and CG may never acknowledge your attemted thievery.

This is an awful act and by no mean justifiable. Needless to say that this should have never occored. But at least other cops have apologized which is a good news. Now it is up to this guy whether to pardon or not.
But let me also state, that trying to use this case for political reasons is totally indecent.

Jovan, are you inplying that serbian police is perfect??
How much have we suffered when we were under oppressen since 1913 is unspeakable and would take volums. To this police we were no more worth than animals.

And just some days ago the Montenegrin police shamelessly quite killed an Albanian fisherman, [http://www.b92.net/eng/news/region-article.php?yyyy=2008&mm=06&dd=12&nav_id=51030 ],but no albanian ever thought to transform it in an ethnic despute. I hope the Montenegrins, as they have promessed, will try those responsable and give them the deserved punishment.

All the balkanik polices are quite rough and quick-handed, but the Kosovo Police must be one of the best, for it has been raisen up with western (unmik) support.

Dear B92,

I am content that you publish this type of news, about how we treat minorities in Kosovo.

However, in order to be in fair side news you have to also publish what Serbs(police and ordinary civilians) do on other minorities in the territory of Serbia.

I think these Kosovo cops are confusing democracy with fascism. I remember Albanian flags being flown in Times Square (New York) not too long ago. Here we go again, another irrelevant news report with the sole purpose of making something of a bigger deal than it is.

Having worked on the door on clubs myself in UK, we would never let anyone in the club wearing a cap, a sports strip, or another top with a national symbol, regardless of what team of country it is from. And from my experience in clubs in Kosovo, you are not allowed to wear caps there either.

If somebody would refused leaving the club or cause trouble we'd phone the police.

So the club had every right to reject entry to this person and phone the police.

However, I do not condone the behaviour of the police officer if that is true.
