why negotiate then? Just tell the world what the God told you. What a joke, and you want to be treated seriously. Did God tell you to treat Albanians this way for a century?

Feith has a way of turning things around. Formally Serbia has no say on what happens in Kosovo. But neither has he or Thaci as it still is UN headquarters and the security council that can veto what happens in Kosovo. And in their decisions Serbia's position plays an important role.

"Do you rally think that Peter Sydika who as a Pole automatically hates Russians , Germans and Jews will mary an Albanian girl ?"

That's not correct, I have a very good friend that is Russian and two very good friends that are German. I also dated a Russian girl that was studying at Warsaw University for a while, so it's not fair to assume that I automatically hate anyone, I am not nationalist, though indeed I am quite patriotic.

Though indeed if I was not married I would probably not marry an Albanian girl, unless she was Orthodox or Catholic. I could never marry a Muslim girl. Poland might be in the West now, but some things will never ever change around here.

Generally, I have a great deal of respect towards Germany and Russia as geat European civilizations and people who have contributed a great deal to mankind, though sometimes I might say negative things about them when they get too imperialistic for my taste.

One more thing: though indeed Jews are generally viewed upon negatively by the average Pole, it is strange that a Russian would be the one to point it out.

" so I dont know what are Serbs are doing with soul-searching in Asia? "
---

From every point of view Russians are more Europeans than the Albanians. Albaina is the only spot of Asian methality and culture in Europe. I don't mean that Asian is anything worse than European but before you say something best if you have a glance at the mirror !

You sound very patriotic and optimistic but the reality is that only 10% of those studying abroad come back to restore RA where one cat and one rat are able to stop the whole energy supply system !

Whatever you say the Serbs are better positioned from many points of view. Besides their sun rises East and as soon as they have a Government they will enjoy an increasng support Albanians can only dream of. Another dismerit of the Albanians you have mentioned yourself. Shortly it means that nobody loves you and as soon as the crisis is settled your allies will lose any interest for you. Do you rally think that Peter Sydika who as a Pole automatically hates Russians , Germans and Jews will mary an Albanian girl ? Be realistic ! There are only two reasons Brussels is interested in the Serbs and the Albanians :

1. To escape penalty for what they have done in the Balkans.

2. Stop Russia from positioning in Serbia.

As simple as that !

Guys, I was just joking. I know that isn't what Albanicum had on mind when he said that, just the way it was written made it look like the Albanians are out to take over the world and I was just poking fun at it. I meant no offense to anybody with this.

Albanicum,

Some very good points that you have raised. I am delighted that amongst the Albanian camp with its usual chest beating nonsense, a voice of reason and concilation reigns.

Yes I agree, Serbia does need to start reopening channels with its neighbour Albania. Seeing that talking to the Snake is absolutley pointless, it would be very wise for direct talks between Tirana and Belgrade over Kosmet. Firstly, talks between Tirana and Belgrade are long overdue and secondly a deal may be reached between the 2 over Kosmet that would satisfy both Serbs and Albanians.

I have said it before a division of the province maybe the only compromise that can be reached and that deal could include Montenegro. Serbia takes the North & Strpce, Montenegro gets the west that includes Pec and Decani (the holy sites) while Albania gets Pristina and the rest. A 3 way split. It might not satisfy everyone but I think if offered it could well be accepted. Belgrade would be reconciled with the loss of its holy sites to be administered by Podgorica. Also I think as part of the deal, Serbia be compensated by getting Republika Srpska. Its a way better solution than the current position at present which gives everything to one side and punishes the other.

Compromise is the only way and Belgrade can already show us further that it has the high moral ground by taking the initiative and having a serious chinwag with Mr Berisha.

To sum it up, bypass Pristina, NATO/EU and start talking to Tirana. What have you got to lose.

Albanicum

pre 15 godina

To Drug:
I disagree with you that Serbs are strategically better positioned. On the contrary I think they are the worst positioned. Europe for Europeans so Russia must keep out. Serbia is Europe so I dont know what are Serbs are doing with soul-searching in Asia?

However, I agree with you that we Albanians in general must try much harder to get better relationship with Serbs, this includes doing much more for Serb minority in Kosovo.

To: Mr. P. Sudyka
Peter I have read your posts and sometimes i liked them. But I must say I tried to read them right and I hope you reciprocate.
Read my post again: I said XXI century is century of Albanians in Balkans! in Balkans not in the world. What to any rational reader this would mean is what I meant: Albanians are going to become a force to be reckoned in Balkans in XXI century. In XIX century Albanians were divided in pieces, in XX century they managed to create lame states and entities and in XXI century finally the Albanian nation with reach it consolidation face, of course in the European family of nations, being a European nation, and its identity defined as much as from being Albanian as from being European.
The same I wish for Serbia and for all Balkan nations: Albanians, Serbs, Greeks, Macedonians, Bulgarians, Romanians, Croats, Montenegrins, Bosniaks.
As for Turks I wish them all the best but they belong to Asia and not Europe.

Even if Feith repeats this particular lie a thousand times a day for a thousand days, it will never become the truth.

The unilaterally declared "constitution" is even less valid than the unilateral declaration of secession. No UN Security Council resolution can be revoked by any act of a clique of wanted terrorists and their criminal accomplices, NATO included.

"International High Representative" Feith in no way represents any international community other than his masters in NATO and the EU.

Whether Feith "supports" a request from his NATO-controlled puppet Haradinaj makes no difference to anyone. Feith himself is nothing more than the latest NATO-EU commissar to draw a salary in another one of these make-work postings for temporarily unemployed minions.

The only question this article raises is how Feith could be so absentminded as to imply that he realizes that Serbia does have a veto today, before his NATO-drafted "constitution" takes effect.

Back to the drawing board guys, this house of cards has already collapsed.

Maybe you are right and RA have some advantage in front of Albanians living in Kosovo. As I said I am not an expert. But before the real investments come you need to meet some terms. One of them is reputation and here you have the biggest problems in Europe.

What I propose could tribute to the realations of RA with the neighbours which are all hostile to you. Then you'll not offer your soil for Atomic stations but use the extra human resourses RA obtains. Anyway Tirana have a chance to show good will and thus gain some respect not only in the eyes of the Europeans but within the Albanians living in several countries.

As you can see Kosovo blitz krieg has failed and Burkina Faso recognition cannot improve the situation. Strategically the Serbs are in a much better position witnessing that the West can do absolutely nothing in the region. So Albanian side may quite be more interested in urgent progress over Kosovo. And this is a good chance for Tirana to prove it's leadership inside the Albanian community and step forward with initiatives acceptable for the Serbs ! I personally believe that the Serbs have The God on their side and you have only a lame duck of G.Bush ! So if I were you I wouldn't waste time.

Albanicum

Mr. Drug, I wanted to correct you for a second time.
You are wrong about Republic of Albania not having economic prospects. Firstly during last 17 years after fall of communism has made a remarkable progress with GDP PPP 6649$ per capita (Serbia is $10985) and growing fast closing the gap which has been enormous.

Republic of Albania has the youngest population and during 1990-2007 there has been 82.000 Albanian from R.A. graduates from Western Universities, there are now 15.000 thousands Albanian from R.A. students studying in Italian Universities alone, there are several times more R.A. Albanians than Serbs in best US schools and same in Germany, UK, Netherlands, Nordic countries etc
There are about 160.000 students in R.A. universities alone!
And Albania has only 3.6 million inhabitants, if you add students studying abroad there are 190.000 Albanians in universities now. My figures are only for Albanians in Republic of Albania. But they speak for themselves and the numbers are growing fast.
I dont have numbers for Albanians in Kosovo and in Macedonia, but I always met Albanians from Kosovo and less from Macedonia in universities abroad in conferences etc, so I suspect the trends are the same.
With so many graduates and postgraduates from the best universities, with practically free access to capital and free market economy, enterpreneurial ppl, integrated in European and Atlantic structures, can you tell me what is going to stop Albanians from reaching highest standards? Wait and see.
The XXI century in Balkans is the century of Albanians.

"united Albania a special status like Tirol in Italy for Serb minority"

I didn't mean to jump so far. I only proposed a way out of the deadlock when Serbs consider the Snake and Haradinai as murderers but not as politicians to be trusted. I also doubt the united Albania may happen some day. First of all because local elites in Makedonia and Kosovo would not like to obey Tirana. Frankly I am not an expert but I just know no samples when countries (or parts of countries) are united. Great Albania is only a slogan which is hard to come true.

Another thing which I stress is that the Serbs are now ready to search for a compromise over Kosovo but the Albanians are reluctant. Meanwhile the situation may change very soon. If they form a good coalition they will no doubt receive vast Russian economic support that can change everything. As you know Albania and Kosovo has no economic prospects at all. So involving Tirana to the process may bring results for all sides . Those may be consultations that can grow to something bigger. What you have mentioned of Srbska Kraina is one of the steps Albania can make towards Serbia.

Dear Ahmet,

This guy calling himself 'Princip UK' has issued you a thinly veiled threat - that his whereabouts could automatically switch to Gracanica or Peja sooner than you think.

Please spare the time to remind him that, though he is mostly welcomed to visit or resettle to Kosovo as he wishes, his arrival here will be met with a bitter and disappointing realization: Kosovo customs police checking up his passport at Prishtina Airport, a big sign of 'Welcome to Republic of Kosovo,' the need to register with local police should he decide to stay longer than provided for by law, the need to go through municipal procedures should he be compelled to buy property, the need to get Kosovo license plates should he want to move aroud by car, along with the fact that his movements will be tracked down by a newly established Kosovo Intelligence Agency. If he's here only shortly and is impressed by the place and is attracted to return, perhaps in a year's time he will surely come across the Kosovo Security Force, and take pictures with them to show his friends in Serbia.

Oh, but I thought these emerging and established institutional organisations are just a dream...are they? Or is the BIG dream (read: self-lie) in the heads of those who have built 'a reality' on the basis of a now completely defunct Resolution 1244, and which is nothing but a piece of paper?

Folks in this thread keep mentioning Mr. Tadic etc...if Mr. Tadic is the boss, can you please ask him to move a single needle across Kosovo on the authority entrusted to him by the constitution of Serbia? See, that constitution stops at our borders - it's just a fact of life. You can extend the constitution to Greece if you really wished so, but the reality is different.

On that note, Mr. Feith is someone you guys seem to have serious issues with, but, actually, Mr. Tadic will soon have to ask for his permission to move around Kosovo. And, of course, the Kosovo Government.

Albanicum

pre 15 godina

I agree Serbia must talk to Albania, a compromise solution can be re-unification of Kosovo with Albania and within united Albania a special status like Tirol in Italy for Serb minority. Unification of Kosovo with Albania will be highly beneficiary also for Serbian cultural heritage in Kosovo because as you know Orthodox faith is one of four major faiths in Republic of Albania(I am myself an Orthodox Albanian by the way) and the Albanian orthodox church in cooperation with local orthodox clergy in Kosovo can take special care of religious sites etc. Besides another by-product of unification of Kosovo with be setting a real precedent for unification of Srpska Republic with Republic of Serbia. Normalization of Albanian-Serbian relationship will be very beneficial in the long-run for the Serb economy cause the united Albanian market of 6 million ppl would be a good market for Serb products.

Instead of spreading lies portraying Albanians as land-grabbing fanatic Muslims while in fact Albanians are 80% agnostics and remaining 20% is for the most part christian orthodox and catholic with few bektashi and sunni sects and Serbs as noble defenders of Christianity (wow, strong Serbia defing weak powerless christian West) the Serb politicians must use their brains and offer solutions to Albanians, durable solutions for long-term peace.

Hello everybody !

What I'd like to say is that today there are no states or oraganisations to be satisfied of what is happening in Kosovo. Those who started this provocation and those who oppose it would prefer the things to run some other way.

But because it's a real deadlock with no way out to be seen we have nothing better to do than to discuss private opinions of second rate Euro buerocrats. Yet we all know that today none of the existing international organisations was able to work out any official attitute towards Kosovo crisis ! So maybe we need to freeze the status quo as it is and make no more fools that can worsen the situation. Times they are changing and maybe there will be a fresh idea to untie the problems concerned.

For instance I believe that Serbia should take Tirana as a part in the conflict and start to negotiate them directlty without any intermediates. At least not all Albanians are bandits and Albania is the only internationally recognized side to represent Albanians. Such an approach will exclude destructive Atlantic structures from the process for Albania is not a participant to them. Any compromise with the de facto authorities of Pristina for the time being are unreal.

Somebody should explain to him that the UN are the ultimate arbiters in situations like this, not the EU, and as all EU states and the US are UN memebers, they also have to abide by UN law as the ultimate legal body. Keep talking Mr Feith with your ALbanian buddies about irreversible independence. Unfortunately talk counts for nothing. Well yes I think this is a good descrription of the guy and his attitude, even though unlike you I support independence for Kosova. Yes there are real issues in reality and this posture does not help. And also from where I stand, speaking of K independence:

"Feith added that he supported the request of Ramush Haradinaj, the president of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, that elections should be held within nine months of the new constitution coming into force"

And you gotta wonder why the Kosova government needs to get permission from Feith or EULEX or ICR or whoever over when to hold their own elections.

Yes, they will rule the US, Germany, UK, Italy and France. The whole world will fall on their knees in awe and reverence to the rulers of the XXI Century, the Albanians.

What have you got to lose.

ben and Albanicum

Guys, I was just joking. I know that isn't what Albanicum had on mind when he said that, just the way it was written made it look like the Albanians are out to take over the world and I was just poking fun at it. I meant no offense to anybody with this.

" so I dont know what are Serbs are doing with soul-searching in Asia? "

Feith has a way of turning things around. Formally Serbia has no say on what happens in Kosovo. But neither has he or Thaci as it still is UN headquarters and the security council that can veto what happens in Kosovo. And in their decisions Serbia's position plays an important role.

why negotiate then? Just tell the world what the God told you. What a joke, and you want to be treated seriously. Did God tell you to treat Albanians this way for a century?
