B92 the albanians, kosovars or whatever they call themselves are discussing Serbian elections. Don't you think it is a bit unusual. My impression was that the poor guys have been treated very badly by the Serbs.

Tadic is American muppet. Come on radicals, with help of the other allies form the pro-Serbian government! Kosovo is Serbia!
pre 18 godina
Well Stuart that is a very bold prediction that may or may not occur.
I don't think even Ivica Dacic has made up his mind yet, so I'm interested how you are so convinced of its imminence. Have you spoken with Borka in the last couple of days to get her opinion on the matter? Not to mention 90% of the grass roots SPS supporters.
pre 18 godina
No, Ken, because the DSS/NS/SRS don't have sufficient votes to secure a governing majority in parliament. The government will be formed by the parties round the DS + SPS. As to the tastefulness of the SPS and Dragan Markovic, their involvement has come about because Voja Kostunica went into alliance with Seselj, and all that he stands for.
pre 18 godina
So "Stuart", according to you, if DSS-NS-SRS were in a pseudo-coalition before the election, their totals outtrump the ZES numbers and make them "victors" in the election not ZES.
The "winners" and "losers" in this election will only be known AFTER a government is formed.
At the moment all we have is some rather comical grandstanding as various parties try to ally themselves with ARKAN's old mate and Milosevic's old mob.
You know the scenario has decended into complete farce when US diplomats are trying to encourage a coalition including Dragan Markovic!
pre 18 godina
It was a very noble "turnaround" by Tadic yesterday.
He walks into a regional conference, moans, then turnsaround and walks out when he can't get his own way.
Of course, it ws all a sham to convince the SPS and the country that he really cares about Kosovo.
Now how does that make him any different to all the other pathetic specimins that call themselves Serbia's political leadership.
pre 18 godina
Tadic offers the only way forward to Serbia. Finally, after years of shady politicians determining the fate of this country, a turnaround is on the cards.
pre 18 godina
I just laugh about all this situation.
You have caught your self's in the web and you cannot get out of it. Without EU Serbia will be devastated.
China and India are poor countries (there may be some rich people, but 90% are poor). Their economies will not sustain their growth, China is facing huge inflation right now. Not one country can sustain economic development in double digits. China will hit a wall and you will see it happen very soon. Remember after WWII Asia was poorer than Africa. Their economies are improving and I am glad for that. But they will face huge problems, I give you my word on that.
So if Serbia does not want Europe, they too will be as great as India and China :-) But, nothing is gained without giving up something. Choices are clear:
1. Accept EU, give up Kosova, Prosper.
2. Reject EU, Loose Kosova anyway (but the dream that one day we will get it back will remain), devastation of Serbia.
Now I feel Bad for Tadic, its on his shoulders to make that decision. He will either be considered the smartest president of Serbia, or the traitor who sold Kosova. If I was a Serbian I would not want to make that decision and be in Tadic's position. My way of dealing with it would be peoples opinion. I would put everything at the table for all to see the facts (they are known, weather or not you accept it in this forum that is a different thing), and have all Serbia vote for the two choices above. The call would be made by the people, so then no one can call the president a traitor or shoot the guy for selling out Kosova.
Peace.

Not correct, "Ken". The DSS/NS/SRS have been in a secret coalition since before the elections in May. This was kept hidden because many of the DSS voters (who voted Tadic into the presidency) find the SRS distasteful. The SRS and Kostunica have lost again, because the SPS are going into coalition with the group of parties round the DS.
pre 18 godina
What a mess.
pre 18 godina
To Stuart
1. The formal preelection coalition ZES achieved 38.4% at the polls and 102 seats in the parliament.
2. The formal preelection coalition DSS-NS achieved 11.6% at the polls and 30 seats in the parliament.
3. SRS alone achieved 29.5% at the polls and 78 seats in the parliament.
SRS saw a slight gain in its popular support from the results in January 2007 (29.5 v 28.6)
SRS-DSS-NS appear to have created and informal 'pact' that has a combined 41.1% and 108 seats.
Either 'bloc' may go on to create a formal governing coalition with other parties.
pre 18 godina
Where has Tadic found 142 MP's?
pre 18 godina
Latest news shows that the Radicals are losers (yet) again and that it is all over for Kostunica. This just goes to show that the marjority of Serbia's citizens (both in presidential and parliamentary elections) did not listen to sour grapes and ranting of DSS/SRS. Good riddance to bad apples.
pre 18 godina
Those are high sounding words Jerimic what makes you think that Brussels cares what Serbs want. They haven't so far they want only for you to legitimize their illegal program for Serbia. Weather it is their bombing of Serbia which their own hypocritical charter said they are not to go on the offense past their members borders or make war with no credible legitimate threat to them. Also for them to take away Kosovo and trying to run it with no legitimate mandate or right to it. They want you to sign Serbia's rights away to them and give them legitimate stamp of approval to all they have done to undermine Serbia. Also of their total disregard to international laws that it was OK for them to break them. You are fooling your self and some of the Serbian population they are not interested in Serbia's opinions only theirs!
pre 18 godina
Let's see if I can understand this. Tadic is reelected. Kostunica decides the govt can no longer function as it is and calls for new elections. Once elections are over they want to reinstate Kostunica to oversee the govt.
Isolation is not the correct word, I think quarantine would be better.
