Serbs have forgeten the past. Its Kosovo Albanians i always hear about talking about the war in Kosovo. I dont want Kosovo part of Serbia, they do nothing for us, unemployment at 50% and theyre debt is hurting our economy. Serbia is just doing good business. Lets see should we make friends or enemies with the country that supplies 30% of Europes oil and natural gas? I feel sorry for Kosovo because it is truley the country that will suffer. It will not be able to join the US or EU. EU integration works on a consensus and since Romania, Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Slovakia all oppose independence i dont see Kosovo joining the EU...ever. Once EU and US pump enough money into kosovo and realize that it is a hopeless cause they will try to throw it back to Serbias control but by then the government will realize how worthless it is to hold on to Kosovo, and wont accept it.

He might have a history and a penchant for arrogantly ignoring his government and parliamentary colleagues, but, as this is generally a good thing in Serbia where self-interest almost always overrules the good of the country, Mr Dinkic is almost certainly correct in voicing disapproval for any potential Gazprom/NIS deal. US$400 million for what is generally thought to be the biggest company in the country? That makes about as much sense as selling the Smederevo steel plant to US Steel for US$23 million - and then watching them turn over almost a billion in that plant three years later.

The popularity of Russia in Serbia right now is completely understandable - but if Serbs believe the Russian people would ever operate against their own self-interest, they are very much mistaken.

If Serbia is to sell NIS, and this is plainly a good idea, either the government follows accepted due process and puts it to international tender - Gazprom still might (hell, they probably will) win, but they'll pay more for it - or else the people of Serbia will know that their current leaders are simply following the "steal what you can from the people" model of their predecessors.

If this is the case then why did the above comment get published? It makes no sense at all and the grammar is terrible.

Yes Marsel, Albanians know all about the "bright future" because you have a giant crystal ball in sitting the middle of Tirana.

What are you confused about? Albanians always sided with the biggest players at a certain point in time, eg. Ottomans,Germany (WW2), USSR, China and now the US. Pretty soon you are going to ditch them for the EU. You are all about self profit. I find Albanians to be very inconsistent people, meaning to change your mind many times over, always rushing to make new alliances here and there. If you don't know already I have to break your heart and tell you straight from the horses mouth (USA) The US does not have friends, only interests. They will drop you like a stone when they no longer have use for you or when you lobbyist run out of money... which I hear they have.

I am really looking forward to the day when Albania tries and snuggle up to Russia again in the very near future. Only thing is Russia will remember all the insults and spitting done to them by Albanians, and if they don't remember then Serbs will happily remind them. Russia has changed with the times as well you know, they realize military might is nothing if you do not have economic might to go with it. Russia's economy is booming as of now thanks to high oil prices, as long as my gas money goes to Russia, I will no longer complain about high gas prises because I know that that money in turn is helping Serbia.

Serbia is in a very good position, we are in a strategic part of Europe (the artery) where its nearly impossible to get around us. This in turn means great economic success and since our GDP grows by 6.7% each year our economy as well as Russia's will have a greater influence in the region and world.

The south stream pipeline which is to be completed by 2014 will bring gas from Russia via Serbia deeper into Europe. So my friend don't worry about us, the EU will be getting very friendly towards Serbia.

To sum it up, Europe is not and will never be complete without Serbia and coincidently Russia. If you didn't already know Russia is also a European country and culture.

Out future looks bright indeed. Good things take time and Serbs are all about time.

"IN A CLEVER WORLD ,THE CLEVEREST MADE THE RULES."

Nope, the one with the biggest oil reserve and agricultural space makes the rules, hey that's russia.

Oil prices soaring to over 100$ per barral and wheat prices soaring Russia is the future, they will be making the rules as theire economic meight grows the world has no other choice then to comply or face even higher oil prices (which hurts the EU & US bad) and if they withhold wheat then bread becomes unavaileble to large number of people.

Now Norway is allready talking about cutting aid because wheat has become to expensive to just 'give away'

And if Serbia indeed cut's the payments for the kosovo debts then those debts are transferred to kosovo and all aid promised by the EU & US is allready gone before it's even givin because it will cost Kosovo 150.000.000 dollars per YEAR.

I`m very confused about what is going on in Serbia.A country to forget what they did to their ex compatriot, some of them to forget about thousands dead people in Bosnia and Kosovo !What`s wrong with this people? So now;Forget EU and USA and make love with Russia?Where is the future? What is all this anger when we all new the end which come after a danger mistake. Kosovo has been lost and all the Serbians must look to the future! If you continue all the after time with only anger, you will be in danger to yourself. Many things can happened to you, more dangers than the lost of Kosova. Someone write from Usa or out of Serbia and show the "patriotisms" side, but do not forget:When the time come ,the suffers will be the people inside Serbia and not them. Forget the history, forget Kosova, look to the future and the future is not someone which use you for richness of they country but the integration EU ,USA and there is the only possibility to have back Kosovo.A danger mistake has putted you 100 years back of the win but 2,3 and more can put you hundreds more.IN A CLEVER WORLD ,THE CLEVEREST MADE THE RULES.
