Turn to the west for help?Serbia will sell NIS for 500 million dollars to Gazprom, which is a quarter of what its worth. In return Gazprom would invest another 500 mil in modernizing the company and infastructure, and include 400 km of the south stream oil pipline along with a major underground storage facility in Northern Serbia. This would make Serbias energy future stable, lower oil prices for Serb citizens.
What big things has the US or Western Europe done in the past few years?

Yet another example why Russia is so supportive.

Russia doesn't really care about Kosova/o or Serbia. Once majority of acquisitions are complete, we'll begin to see why they appear so supportive.

I am afraid it will be too late (for Serbia and its economy) to turn to the West (or EU) for help/advice.

Cheers,
