Taking into account the fact that a considerable number of national minorities live in Serbia, they would, in conformity with international standards, enjoy all individual and collective rights, i.e., the right to using their languages in judicial matters, the right to be educated in their own languages, the right to their religious services, cultural activities and so forth.
(Vojislav Seselj)

Oh, how reminds me of the serbian "offers" of broad autonomy during the negotiations in the last two years. And they say Serbia now is a "democratic" country. Don't make me laugh. In Albania we say: The wolf might change his color, but never his attitude.

I can kindly provide you not only with a speech but with a very detailed plan made by Seselj in 1995, and published in Serbia on how to get rid of the Albanians in Kosova/o. I have provided here it here in the past. Anyone can check it out if they want.

A statement by Serb Deputy Prime Minister Voislav Seselj in Velika Serbija,
The Greater Serbia Journal, Belgrade, Oct.14, 1995

If anyone wants me to post the whole text let me know. I also have a plan about the expulsion of the Albanians of Kosova/o, published by the Serb government in 1937, in Belgrade. If anyone is interested in that let me know.

I hope mr. Mesic will continue to tell the truth about Kosova, and from this point he is not taking anyone side, is not bias, because he is a slav like serbs and is not an albanian.
Well done Stipe.

Serbia need to take this big mouth to court for his insults. Croatia is on the list for not giving minority their rights by the Human Rights Watch Community. Check out their website. I am hoping that the Serbian Goverment will speak out and shut his mouth once and forever.

KS,

I never heard of such a speech either. Can you kindly provide the source as I am interested to read it in full. Of course, until I am able to actually read such a speech for myself, I shall treat this as just hot air. Thanks.

You now KS, everything what Slobodan Milosevic ever sad or wrote in any of his countless speeches, interviews and such, is in a public record. It’s easy to find by anyone interested. He never, ever sad anything bad against any nation. That Court in Den Haag employed legions of legal experts to search for any evidence of S. Milosevic alleged nationalism. In all those years they couldn’t find anything. The “worst” they found was that famous sentence, (taken out of context and misrepresented), from his Gazimestan speech for 600 hundred years of the Battle. But even that speech, if heard complete is not aggressive at all. Nothing bad sad against any nation at all, on the contrary, he even prized national diversity.

So, maybe you know something all these international legal experts couldn’t find!? You should help them. Would you care to share your knowledge with us? When and where he sad something like that?

As it is Mr.Mesić's habit (regarding KIM) his logic is - faulty. According to him, KIM was part of Serbia - because of Yugoslav federation. So Federation was (according to Mr.Mesić) cause of this bond. But KIM was part of Serbia after wars in 1912, which didn't have anything to do with Federation...
On the other hand, Istria and Adriatic islands became part of Croatia - because of Federal Yugoslavia, not before that. How then (according to same logic) can Croatia exercise rights over Istria and islands - still - when Fereration of Yugoslavia is no more!?

Mesic was actually going to back the provisional release of Gotovina. At least the Hague was "smart" on this NO!

Mesic should mind his own business as Croatia is a friend of Serbia just as oil & water mix. He's an instigator & is blowing hot air like is counterparts - Ceku & Thaci. What a great mix!

Lola

Yes Her Mesic being that you are so smart about Serbia's boarders I would suggest that you learn your own history and boarders of Croatia and what they should or should not keep as their own.

Aca

That's right! The federation no longer exists so Mesic should mind his own affairs and not meddle in the internal affairs of its neighbours.

I wonder when this man is going to stop to interfere in Serbia's internal affairs. His opssesion over Serbia is really sick. It is high time that somebody from Serbian government tell this man to shut up once for good when it comes to Serbian internal affairs. Kosovo issue has nothing to do with Croatia and therefore this man has no credibility of saying anything on this issue. Well, I am loking forward seeing the solution over the few disputable km's of Adriatic sea that Slovenia and Croatia argue. Hm, maybe Italians are coming too????

PJD

Mesić is not at all being honest here. The Yugoslav constitution clearly states both Kosovo and Vojvodina were part of Serbia. Why would Serbia have less rights as a sovereign nation than as a Yugoslav Republic?

"The Croatian president deemed that the problem had been the mistaken assumption on the part of Slobodan Milošević who had wished to drive out two million Albanians from Kosovo, expecting that Europe would look to him to clamp down on the Albanians. However, NATO stepped in."

Two problems with this statment - first that Mesić assumes that Milošević wanted to drive out the Albanians from Kosovo. During the 78 days of NATO bombardment just as many Serbs from Kosovo left per capita as Albanians.

Secondly NATO attacked after it had failed to coerce the FRY to sign the Rambouillet accords and not after any Albanians had appeared to have been "driven out"

Wishful thinking by someone who's thoughts and actions helped bring about this mess. Funny he did not apply the same policy in the Krajina and, for his role, he himself, as a representative of Croatia, stands for gaining sovereignty over others property through ethnic cleansing and minority repression. If he was one to take higher ground, he could offer the Krajina "substantial autonomy" or independence and make conditions for refugee returns. As a representative of Croatia, he stands as an example for how States are allowed to repress, torture, and kill minorities that threaten National sovereignty. Mesic is like a pot calling the kettle black.
