the dayton accords were a great tragedy, which legitimized ethnic cleansing, read: genocide. that is a very bad thing, indeed. it may be true that SOME bosnians, esp after years of non-stop hate propaganda and nasty, corrupt fear-mongering politicians, along w/ regular interferenece frm a certain larger neighboring country, would prefer not to live in peace with their neighbors, but that is something that they (and the rest of us!) need to learn to do. so bosnia shall continue to exist, and hopefully one day, in some kind of harmony, given half a chance. sermon over.

Here are some reasonable FACTS for the Federation and the Republic to kick around as we move into the new year:

Serbs don't want to live with Muslims-fact
Serbs don't want to live with Croats-fact
Croats don't want to live with Serbs-fact
Croats don't want to live with Muslims-fact
Muslims don't want to live with Serbs-fact
Muslims don't want to live with Croats-fact

Seems simple and straight forward enough, yet, why do we continue to cling to a dysfunctional state that no one wants? It's because this state is a step child no one wants to live with, let alone love and nurture. It's nothing, zero, a disillusion, an illusion, a by product of Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky from the West Wing in the White House...a hallucination devised alongside Richard Holbrook with their pen pals in Europe: Chirac, Kohl, and Blair.

It's time to put this dog out of it's misery and allow each people to choose their own course, their own future and destiny. Certainly we don't need each other, nor do we want the other as neighbors, colleagues, partners, whatever....or do we continue to share in this hallucination? Can someone show me a successful country based on this model?...I can't think of one, and that's exactly what the West wants...a weak and divided country that is: dependent, controllable, and ultimately EXPENDABLE!

Next year this child turns 13, a teenager....and that's when the real problems start...we all know the saying...little kids little problems...bigger kids bigger problems.
