Peter - There is always a way around the bush.

No one wants to have to use a veto that will make them look horrible, ever heard of such a thing as constructive abstention?

Constructive abstention is the idea of allowing a Member State to abstain on a vote in Council under the common foreign and security policy (CFSP), without blocking a unanimous decision.

The pressure would be higher to abstain than use the veto. It's not Russia who is holding a veto, it's Cyprus...and Cyprus cannot afford to dangle it's tail too hard.

PS. Trying to paint a criminal look on Albanians, when you've got many citizens of Serbia accused and tried for some of the biggest atrocities in the world, and you've got the entire EU filled with European criminals...it's kind of like too convenient to say that Albanians are the worse criminals out there.

It's maliscious finger-pointing and it only weakens all your other points.

An Albanian accusing Serbs of crime and Cypriots of insignificance is just a joke! Did you know that:

1) The largest number of wanted criminals on Interpol are Albanians with 232.

2) If you weren't so stubborn and actually went and read how EU membership works, you would see that it takes agreement from ALL EU member states to acknowledge an aspiring country's membership. All it takes is one veto, and you stay in the stone age.

What me must do know is be active in countries where they are also see the danger in forced split of a country (Serbia).

So write letters to newspapers in Cyprus, Romania, Greece, Spain.

I am doing what I can in Holland.
This must be stopped!

let me remind you that Cyprus is quite there where you want to be, my dear Ahmed.

they have more than you, they can do more than you, they are more developed than you...so there is really no reason for YOU to downplay Cyprus.

you can only lose, by doing so.

actually, you are losing, virtually.

Don't forget it only takes one EU country to veto any spending plans if this folly continues and attempts by one or two large EU nations to step into Serbia's province i.e. no EUMIK via illegal methods.

Ahmet youve got the permanant "brake" on independece that is!

There you have it. I am sure albanians will make fun of how insignificant Cyprus is, or how weak Russia is, or how Spain doesn't matter....However, the reality is, without Russia's support, there will never be a 'greater albania', and without Cyprus' support, they can never get into the EU. Serbia, on the other hand, can.
So I urge the albanians to keep on insulting these great nations :), it will only help us.

"Cyprus will never recognise an independent Kosovo"

that´s what I heard her say, in an article of the serbian tv ( RTS ).

if so, all those announced declarations will be a kind of theatre... something to caress the albanian souls ( remember, most of the K-albanians are quite young )
but in the end it will stay what it is...an illusion.

and the probability quite high that more countries within the EU will join that clear message.
