The difference between Kosovo and republika srpska is that Kosovo has been an autonomous Albanian-majority province of Serbian republic in Yugoslavia, and with unaltered borders, since 1945; but srpska is an artificial result of genocidal work of the big criminals of the Milosevic-Mladic-Arkan-Karadzic Axis in Bosnia.

To give independence to srpska and annex it to Serbia would be both hard to do, since Brcko and Posavina make FBiH and srpska both uncontiguous territories, and a reward to those people who commited the Srebrenica Massacre, the Siege of Sarajevo and the Omarska Concentration Camp.

See the truth: the army of srpska commited much more and much worse war crimes than the KLA.

A country that drows attention for good deeds is OK, but for bad is a disaster in making. It seems that serbia every turn it makes shoots itself on the foot.

Western powers are attacking from all sides. I feel bad for Serbian people because they will suffer the most.

Kosovo should stay part f Serbia and "western powers" should back off. Enough is Enough. Serbia is small country but with courage and stand up to the sky.

Smile people, smile!
We are yet another step closer to Russia.
Government should send the protest to those countries critisizing their recent statement about Kosovo. Like the one Bush gave in Albania.
I doubt they will do that. Never worry. Elections are comming. Radicals. Real government.

More sickening double standards from the West. They want to rape Serbia, but while raping her they want her to shut up, and not fight back. When she fights back, they get upset and make more threats. This is truly disgusting behaviour from the so called 'civilized West'. These people are obviously desperate and have no scruples, and no shame.
Their threats will not work, justice will win over power.

I really don't know why the West continues to believe that Kosovo and Bosnia are unrelated. Why? Because they said so? Sorry, it doesn't fly. The rationale from Serbia's point of view is that if Kosovo can separate from Serbia and Albanian self-determination be taken in account, why should the same criteria not be applied to Bosnia, or at the very least, maintaining the distinctive units of RS and Federation? The timing of these moves in Bosnia could not have come at a worse time, what with Kosovo's diplomatic tug of war going into endgame. These statements and moves by the West will continue to push Serbia farther away from Europe's sphere and into Russia's.

Mike I wonder why are you surprised with the West. Turn back the hands of time and back to 1912 we Albanians were on the other end of the stick, just like Serbia is today. Albanian territories were being split left and right, as long as you weren't Albanian you were given Albanian land. About 2/3 of Albanian lands were left outside our border as a result. Serbia was amongst those countries that exploited those times and was given Albanian lands.
No history is repeating itself but it Serbia that is at the end of the stick now. Like us back then Serbia is feeling the wrath of big powers. I think this wrath is just and Serbs might disagree but just so you know, its not the end of the world we've been there before. Look at Kosova/o Albanians, they've been through thick and thin, they're still there.

An attempt to translate the recent developments:

The U.S., UK, France, Germany, Italy and the High International Representative to Bosnia Miroslav Lajčak face similar problems in their quest to govern Bosnia as did the Federal Government of Yugoslavia in the 1970s and 80s.

Therefore The U.S., UK, France, Germany, Italy and the High International Representative to Bosnia are planning to run similar hegemonic power politics in Bosnia as they accuse Serbia had done during the 1980s in Yugoslavia.

I would smile. But I don't.

Serbia is doing everything trying to protect a lost opportunity that is named Kosovo. Is playing dirty with BiH that is a sensitive and vulnerable state in order to blackmail west about the effects that Kosovo Independence can have for the region. However West won;t give care since BiH, Kosovo, Serbia are not EU. We are hurting ourselves. However is a dangerous movement that official serbia is conducting and someone can say desperate move that will cause frustration to the people of BiH that have suffered more then everyone else. Serbian political elite is acting blindly just because of a simple fact: It has nothing to loose anymore. nevertheless this is not a good reason to mine once again the balkans and bring it in the threshold of another war. No one deserve it. The last SALE: Is it R.S in exchange for Kosovo. Doesn;t make sense. at all... i can;t find any connections in these 2 particular cases. In one moment I was thinking a scenario. "Kosovo under serbian rule". Will be disaster; for both serbia and kosovo... such cohabitation will never function and will always be a source of violence and conflicts. Will be a waste of energy, lifes, money... everything

This is incredible - the "superpowers" of the world want everything from Serbia as long as we do everything they ask!

It is absurd that the community thought for one single moment that RS would have a place in the "peaceful discussions" of KosovO.

You either go to the left or go to the right - you can't be in two places at once.

Oh, isn't it interesting how all of a sudden the US wants to make "peace" with Russia??

Check mate!

Did they (US, UK and France) think that Serbia would not highlight the obvious contradiction that belies the partition of Serbia and that of the other former Yugoslav Republics inviobility? Fine push open the pandora's box but dont be surprised when the repurcusions start falling like domino's.

this is only about kosovo. government is upping the ante all the time and playing absolutely with everything they've got. Now the west is calling it, kinda... first bgd questioning joining nato, eu, when we know how eager europe is to have balkan countries under supervision and control to avoid what already happened in the 90s, now they're stirring this hornet's nest called bosnia, bosnia... it could backfire for us but i don't see how at this point. Saa will be postponed anyway until mladic is signed sealed and delivered. it could reflect on our economy. I think pristina is trying to play its own game stirring things up in macedonia but their game is much more dangerous. I think the 12 years freeze was not floated just for the fun of it. The west has no idea what to do here. I would like to see that experiment, lets see if liberals really are right when they say, poverty breeds terrorism, and not the other way round. Let them poor billions into kosovo and see if it emerges as a decent society 12 years from now. Or not.

What is going on in here?

"The representatives from the embassies of the western powers also expressed their dissatisfaction with Belgrade's equation of the Dayton Peace Accord and UN Resolution 1244, that is, the Bosnia-Republic of Srpska situation and that of Kosova"

There must be a "complot" and a "threat" to Serbia here
