Not much different in the US, Liam. Chelsea Clinton got a 100K job right out of college with zero experience. Would a college grad with a different surname make that much for the same position?

Why shouldn't Serbia, as well as Kosovo, be placed under EU administration? One of today's B92 stories is an agreement to divide the important public sector jobs between the parties that rule Serbia. Jobs for the boys. This is corrupt, keeping the most competent people out of key positions. Kosovo may not be much better, corruption-wise, but as long as most Serbs and Albanians who live in Serbia and Kosovo remain amongst the poorest people in Europe, there will be ample room for fear, crime and unrest.

"EU shouldn't get bogged down that quickly but make swift decisions. All they need is the Kosovar Albanians agreement and help implementing Ahtisari Plan and that is a done deal.
(EA, 6. October 2007 14:04)"

Why should the EU support only Kosovar Albanians and not Serbs as well? Why should Serbia's interests not be considered either?

Here I agree with CoscoVo, the US sidestepped the UN, went in all guns blazing and left a horrific mess, which now the world has to try and fix.

Serbs went into their own province, they did not invade a sovereign country, while their actions were terrible, the US on the other hand separated Kosovo from Serbia, bombed Serbia and has left enough collateral damage to leave that area destabilized forever.

Cvele, you are absolutely right, I am sorry for even implying that the peaceful people of Tibet would recognize Kosovo.

If the albanians in Kosovo would not resorted to violence in 98 I belive that Serbian people would not been so negative towards them

"What an incredible mess has been created by the trigger happy Clinton administration - and their greedy little EU supporters."

Here we go again a typical Serb blaming the whole world for the mess they're in, but never even trying to scrutinize their own actions.

Sorry to disipoint you Serboslav, but there will never be EU soldier replacing NATO. 1800 EU epmloyees have nothing to do with NATO soldiers.
Besides EU mission will deal only with police and justice and not military issues. Just yesterday I had a meeting with French General(with rank) that works for EUPT(planning team for EU), and i know what I am talking about. easy to verify it for b92 and confirmed it on the site for you Serboslav.

The reason why Kosova is independent under no Serb rule today and forever is the fault of the SERBS not the world. Get it straight. It was Miloshevic's fault but who elected him? Who praised him?
Who kept him in power? You used him and then when the world turned completely around you handed him as a scapegoat.

How many Serbs are born in your craddle of Civilization? None!

How many Serbs have visited Kosova, ever?
Less than 10%

Cvele you seem so educated with all this reply, maybe b92 should have put a tick or give you five stars for effortnext to it.
Tibet dosnt like Albania? Albania my friend supports the free will of the people kosovo till korea. We were never for colonialism, had a good land and stayed there, same thing with tibet. As for china the great factory of the world money means they can keep tibet under their thumb for ever, Serbia dosnt have what china has, and kosovo has already gone.
Ladies and gentlemen from the serb camp i would like you to recollect when was the last time you were in kosovo?

What an incredible mess has been created by the trigger happy Clinton administration - and their greedy little EU supporters. American politicians never think their actions out - they just act - in order to acheive their own little agendas. The EU is an economic union - and now they are forced to also become cops. This is all heading towards such a tragedy - and as always the innocent inhabitants of the area will suffer. Politicians should be held accountable for their mistakes - and Clinton should be at the head of that line.

Jack, you took the words right out of my mouth. UNMIK is now heavily corrupt. EUMIK would be a fresh start for both communities in Kosovo. They could set up shop in Albanian districts and coordinate joint institutions with Kosovo's Serbian north if for the sake of compromise.

Jack

This is a good opportunity to get rid of UNMIK which is now totally corrupt and useless and replace it with an new more vigorous mission. This would be quite simple to do without the UN. The EU could sign a contract with Serbia to administer the province for a set period of time much like a franchise agreement.

It will be a collection of a few of EU member states. They will try to "call" themselves the EU or EU representatives. Just like in the troika right now. Four countries calling themselves EU. Rather embarassing to have such a foreign policy. However, that doesnt mean Greece or several others will not resist such a move. Keep in mind all it takes is 1 to break the deal. I wonder what EU will offer Greece to betray us? That is if they silence all the others. That draft will go out the window. Just like ur "independence" has gone long before it. :)
