There is nothing wrong for the commander and chief of any nation, to embrace its military. I love the photo. It is very macho

This is strange, because I recall Kostunica himself admitting he TRULY appeared on that pic, but justifying that hi did that because some people there wanted him to do so.
It is really amazing how serbs try to find an answer to any unfavorable fact criminalizing them. Kostunica with a kalasnikov? Oh, no, it is photoshoped. Mass graves of albanians? Oh no, they were killed by albanians themselves. Serbia attacking the half of Balkan countries? Oh, no, but it was a self defence.
Come on guys, will you never accept you did something wrong?

PS. By the way, given all serbian media, including B92 seem so interested to present any little graffity on the walls stating: "Proud to be albanian", there also many many everyday criminal missdoings of serbs in Kosovo. Only yesterday your guys from Ranilug village attacked throwing stones all the cars of albanians passing by. Many people are in hospital, and I am guessing, wait a moment, how come?

India, probably, won't join SCO.
In these days India is conducting the most important military exercises ever (for India) with the US Navy and other armed forces (Japan and Australia amongst others).
In a future WW4 scenario (the WW3 has already been fought and won by NATO against Warsaw Pact) I could hardly imagine China side by side with Russia.
By the contrary China actually is the main and probably only danger for Russia: Siberia is going to be inhabitated overwhelmingly by Chinese people given that Russia is demographically disappearing and it is more difficult for Moscow to contain the Beijing push in Asia.

tadic is important for one thing only: when important visitors come to the best country in the world, he awaits them at the airport and organizes music, snacks and drinks. that´s all about it.

if tadic can´t handle this agenda vojo will exchange him and all the other parties for america within 5 minutes (like in the coalition talks).

Njazi,

Since you ask, I’m opposed to Serbia joining NATO. I think Serbia has had enough war and doesn’t need any complicating entanglements or alliances.

Serbia should embrace their destiny as a bridge between East and West with a foot in both worlds.

France trading with Russia through Serbia to take advantage of Serbia’s free trade agreement with Russia is the type of regional position we should foster and support.

Great photo Aleksander. Thanks.

The sad thing is that it takes more than nice words and wishful thinking to defend the Serbian minority which remains in Kosovo, which hasn't been ethnically cleansed yet. Sadly this the currency in Kosovo, but it is a problem that was foisted on the Serbian nation by her enemies.

Alex, what does Kostunica holding a rifle have to do with anything? Would a photo of Ceku or Thaci holding a gun mean anything in regards to Serbia's NATO issue, as what this article is about? Could you please stop the constant attempts to portray one side as evil, and the other side good. Both sides have historically been bad and evil. Let's work on the issues at hand today, Sept., 3, 2007.

Let the people in Serbia vote whether they want to join NATO or not. I cant understand how some parties in Serbia talk about joining NATO when there maybe isn't any support for it among its own citizens.

Let the people decide please!

If NATO support albanian separatism in their drive for independence, I can hardly see that people in rest of Serbia would like to join an alliance that has just helped "an enemy" to carv out and grab a territory that for the serbs is seen as holy.

The question sholdn't be so much what NATO did to Serbia, but rather what NATO is, why Serbia should join and the consequences of it.

NATO is a obsolete cold war creation that should be put down immediatly. Serbia will gain US-favour by joining, but for the sake of security, Serbia is better off without NATO.

Serb by choice

pre 16 godina

NATO membership didn’t bring prosper to anybody. Once you are in there is no way out. Joining NATO is worst decision. Example is Cyprus where both parties Greeks and Turks are NATO members. If Serbia want to sell its future than NATO is right choice.

John3

pre 16 godina

Great rhetoric from the nationalists. Better for NATO not to have these kind of member states. I still wonder why DSS does not merge with the parties SRS and SPS. I see no difference in their words.

Hope DSS, SRS and SPS will soon go for official coalition and withdraw from approaching EU as well. EU is better off without Serbia. A country and its people electing and supporting Milosevic and his policies of expanding territory, hatred and war that is mainly responsible for all the violence in South East Europe. Better let the Russians take care of them.

massimo

In my opinion Serbia should forget about joining EU or NATO, at least with the nowadays government ruling in Belgrade.
After all it should be fair organising a referendum calling all the Serbian citizens to vote yes or not: I think that not would win.

Cvele

pre 16 godina

I believe that if Serbia threatened to offer to join SCO, EU might reconsider its position. Remember we are being nice. We have other options and not just NATO. There is no law or rule that says you cant be in SCO and EU at the same time. Although I admit it would be unlikely it would be a great bargaining chip.
