to michael, gordana, mbaki, and evreyone , ok security its a priority and that should be sorted but can you's tell me one thing how the hell do you people expect and seem to forget what exactly happend in that region for the last 15years, but then how would you all know where you havnt been through that, where your (serbian) neibourghs that you grew up turned to be the biggest killers, and you mention architecture here, what happened to the Ottoman architecture that was presence for over 500years, that never gets mentioned but then of course you only here the serbian version of the history...but wheather we like or not thats exept it 95% or more of kosovan population was and is albanian/illirian/native/turikish what ever you want to name that 95% and if any of you belive that kosovo can survive as part of serbia then we are really asking for trouble...

It is false to claim that "whoever did this is not important." Security issues notwithstanding, the Orthodox churches in Kosovo are a part of the world's cultural heritage; religion aside, they are of monumental architectural significance. Those who would in moments destroy something that has previously stood for centuries are despicable creatures indeed. Vandalisation of this nature should not be tolerated, nor should it be so casually dismissed by way of conspiracy theory.

artan whoever did this is not important. the point is "SECURITY" is volatile and this would not contribute positively to the status determination. like the assault on the 2 british in the decani area. remember that even in an independent state if "SECURITY" is problematic, economics will further plunge down.

i fully agree with mbeki. if in the presence of the UN and KFOR this is happening then how much more in an independent kosovo managed by ex guerilla fighters

well that's disapoiting to hear wheather it is a church or a mosque or synagog, but one thing i know for sure that how do we know this isnt another propaganda of the serbian masterminds that have been doing this for the last 100 years...

What we see here is the action of a small minority of extremists who express, violently, feelings that are felt popularly by respectable Kosovars who are self-controlled enough not to break out into a rage. So the "international community" has the evidence it needs to claim that it's only a small minority doing things like this, and ordinary Kosovars can fairly claim they have nothing to do with it. Yet Serb communities are in fact persecuted within a threatening political and physical context that extends way beyond the small minority of extremists. How long! How many desecrations do the decent people need to see before they grasp what is happening? They are not watching.

For those who have not seen this, it relates to the Obilic incident (in context), and it's worth a click and read:

This is very disappointing and this reflects the immaturity of the kosovars for the so called "self-determination" process.
