Situation is no better in all balkans countries population is reducing due to scary biblic emigration of youngsters and dismantling of the traditional family as an institution. Rama also tried giving an incentive for newborn babies but nothing seems to work. When people don't have a job to maintain themselves how can they create a family and make babies? So we are all on same boat as always. The more logical thing to do I think is what Erdogan decided to do recently: give a modest pay from the State to grandparents who raise or help raise their grandchildren so parents can work. Serbia has a diaspora. Milosevic created circumstances where many young people moved abroad. Those people had children many of which could return to Serbia if it was attractive enough to inspire them. Instead, I suspect that the movement is still out of Serbia. If Vucic wants a higher population he needs to make Serbia a better place to live. He has much that he ought to be doing to improve the country - firstly, take a much stronger line on corruption.
I still stand firmly in my prediction that Srbija will not exist by the year 2050 ! One BIG factor is the declining population , Serbian people dying off at a very high rate and no reproduction of new children, that's a no brainer of self destruction. Other BIG factors are Isolation and Poverty , Serbia is completely land locked and totally surrounded by hostile neighbors who are also impoverished little countries and that recipe can only result in future wars and hostility. So Srbija is emptying out , any body that can get out is leaving and the ones remaining are dwelling in great darkness of a unknown future. So 2050 is about the reality and it is sure to come !!!
