There is absolutely no evidence what so ever of Navalny. If he was poisoned by Novichok Navalny would be dead as the Dodo bird. His staff retrieved his drinking water bottle 4 hours after he left the hotel room and not one was affected, people were around him all the time and yet Navalny was the only one who was “sick”.
Before anyone starts posting BS look up Novichok and see how deadly this chemical is to humans. Navalny’s entire entourage would be dead.

A whistle blowers -former director of the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons- was recently prevented by the US, UK and FR to testify at the UNSC about twisting of evidence by the OPCW regarding the supposed chemical attack in Syria. Former employees of the OPCW reached different conclusions than the current leadership of the OPCW about what happened in Syria. The OPCW has become a politically motivated institution.

If Putin wanted this guy dead, he would be dead. Much is at stake here -read oil&gas and dollars- so people are willing to go far for that. History is full of examples how far people and countries are willing to go to protect their interest. That applies to the West as well as to Russia, btw.

You forgot about GRU and KGB/FSB being eternal rivals - even if GRU is formally part of KGB. This is like the Gestapo - Abwehr rivalry. At some point these were more bitter rivals than Germany and Soviet Union.

VVP was (is?) a KGB officer, more a bookworm, than a military macho man. I could be wrong, but I do not see a reason he would seriously consider either Skripal' or Navalnyj. Maybe Navalnyj, but he does not care less about Skripal'. On the other side there is GRU and them being rivals. I think, this is why VVP did allow Margarita to "toast" both GRU agents in public on the TV. Than, of course both agents "disappeared", now either dealing with lead poisoning (few grams of lead fired from AK-47) or Uranium poisoning (serving our Homeland with diligent Stakhanov-style labor in Siberia). I tend to think about AK-47, it's simpler.
The Navalnyj could be reaction of GRU, but don't held me responsible.

However, the Russians had no benefit to kill Alexei Navalny – non at all. The last thing Moscow needed was an incident where they could be blamed. It’s funny how everyone skims over the part that Novichok is a deadly poison and a few drops would kill many people within a certain radius and yet no one else except Navalny was affected.
