Fierce fighting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani armies is underway in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. A state of war has been declared in both countries.
This is what you get when you try to divide states according ethnic lines. This is the catastrophe that the fall of the USSR produced. Life is no better, people have been struggling for decades for a job to feed their kids while the only empire left is only concerned about oil pipelines. But everybody can sing to freedom and independece. Little problem songs don't feed. It is a tragedy for those wonderful people of Azerbaixhan and Armenia.

Absolutely, you are 100% right.
As for Jugoslavija I under normal situation one would expect it being extended into Adria-Danube Confederation (with Albania and Bulgaria joining).
AFAIK, this was the initial dream of Georgi Dimitrov, Never Hoxha and Tito.
Instead, a host of little statelets was born, Serbs in Srpska and Serbia and KiM, Albanians in CG, Greece, KiM, Serbia, Bulgarians in Macedonia and Bulgaria and so on. And everyone hates everyone. No R&D, industry in the toilet, all serious stuff is coming from other countries.
But hey, the wonderful people got ripped of precisely like you said - but defrauded with dreams about larger thing called AZ, ARM, AL, BG, SRB, whatever.

I don't think the kingdoms of this world have much to offer. Even the few that offer a high standard of living, cannot give satisfaction or peace. I suggest moving to the countryside, working diligently with the hands, and eating the good fruit of the land in peace.

Why is the hopeless EU trying to get involved???? It has not resolved the Kosovo issue, it has not resolved the illegal immigration issues, there is massive division between the west and east Europe over gay rights and immigration quota, no unity during the covid virus etc etc.
EU needs to sort itself out before trying to mediate in any non EU issues.
