"It was an ethnic cleansing of Serbs and Milosevic cannot change that fact"

The "Storm" was an ethnic cleansing of Serbs, and the presence of Boris Milosevic cannot change that, the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, stated today.

This is the difference between citizenship and ethnicity, or the concept of nation-state versus ethnicity. It's a "modern" problem.

@L*O*G*I*C: Not sure, what you mean about "pointless", please elaborate.
I explained the common view most people I know have.

@Atamanov brat od strica: the "ethnicity" issue started to be replaced with "tradition" lately.
The single exception is the Rom population, but even there it started to move towards something like "we are all of xxxx ethnicity, but have Rom tradition".

This is what shocks people from YU even more. Introduction of possibility to have "exotic" ethnicity ("Jedi", "Sith", "Elf") in several post-Soviet countries made it even more clear.

So we going towards political correctness. Far better than the civil war, but still see Donbass or Armenia vs. Azerbaijan.

This is exactly where stupid nationalism does lead. You got one of the best country in Europe - your criminal "leaders" destroyed every part of it, with help of nationalism and religious bigotry.

In any case, the only citizenship that ultimately matters is citizenship in the kingdom of God.

Just one question: what is a Yugoslav?
(Atamanov brat od strica, 4 August 2020 21:18)

Strictly speaking: between 1800 and 1920: purely linguistic question.
After ca. 1920: all people raised on the territory of Jugoslavija + all people formally naturalized as "Jugoslavian citizen".

In 2020 formally, a Kenyan soccer player naturalized in Croatia is "Jugoslavian citizen".
There is (a fact!) a train engineer living in Pristina, recognized as a refugee, than a Kosovo citizen. He is from Africa, he is a "Jugoslavian citizen".

I am not a "Jugoslavian citizen" even that my Serbian is likely much better, than of that train engineer as I never was recognized by any entity of Jugoslavija as a citizen and I wasn't born or raised there.

This is EXACTLY the definition of "Russian" as it is used in Russia.

Few months ago I did read on the Serbian language part of B92 many comments where people were shocked about a Chechen / Noxchi athlete being called "Russian". I was shocked about them being shocked as much as they are shocked about me not understanding the problem to begin with.

The goal of both sides, was to have ethnical clean areas. The same as in Bosnia. The strange thing it was actually ethnical clean as only Yugoslavs lived there. So for example Mr. Ivanovic had to shoot at Mr. Ivanovic from the other side. They two even spoke the same language. How is this ethnical division defined? There is only religion left.
(Tito reloaded, 4 August 2020 13:01)

Just one question: what is a Yugoslav?

Take, for example, the exceptional town of Svrljig. There are four Yugoslavs registered there. If we found them and knocked on their doors and asked what they are, what would they say? My guess is that they haven't survived since the last census. But, not to spoil our good fun, let's just assume they're still living.

25 years later and Croatia continues to ethnically cleanse itself. Unless you're too poor to leave or too rich to care, everyone is leaving Croatia. Serbs were just given a head start.

I totally agree what happend in Croatia to all unfortunate Serbs it was a mass ethnic cleansing.
Mr Milosevic is a Croatian politician and what ever he decides we must not be critical. And putting him in the situation. He cannot please Rep Serbia if he goes nor Croatia if he does not.
I think he should go as he is Croatian politician
Hé should do his duty without Serbia interfering.
