Did the PM really say this?

"Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said tonight that the state of emergency will last four months, if necessary, to save a single human life."

That's the nuttiest thing I have ever heard. Governments have to learn to balance risk, reward, and consequences. Zero tolerance seems far from balanced. It's actually an insane statement.

It's not to hear about how much she cares about one human life. If she means it she should start by banning all smoking in Serbia since I am sure smoking kills many more Serbs every year than the virus will over many.

Absolutely agree about smoking - it's the prime reason we complain if traveling in Balkans. It is just appalling.

The four month reasoning is not professional - but in Czech Republic they are talking about 6 month to 2 year, while in Hungary Orbán presented a so-called "Palpatine law" which would give him Palpatine-like powers forever.

Just slightly longer than a typical Srpska pauza.
