If these reports are correct it's great news. Perhaps Mr Trump is the first president in decades to understand that perpetual war is not good for anyone (apart from a small elite who profit from war).
I always find it amusing when Americans thank their military for "serving and protecting America". This is an amazing view point considering the US has invaded country after country, toppled foreign governments and behaved like "The most warlike nation in the history of the world" (this is how Jimmy Carter described the USA last year).

I read recently a report by the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Browns University.
The report states that America has spent $6.4 trillion on wars and military actions in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. $6.4T is the equivalent of spending $1 million every hour, 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week for the next 730 years.
It is also $2T more than was allotted for the entire general budget for 2019.
The results of these military actions have seen 801,000 people die as a direct result of fighting. 335,000 civilians have been killed. But the report says that these are conservative figures and they are probably much higher. Needless to say 10s of millions have been displaced and many economies destroyed.
So, Mr Trump, take your military home and stop destroying countries and killing people. Stop perpetual wars.

And what now, they go to Camp Bondsteal to arm, help and support Albanian Islamic terrorist eradicate Serbian people from their homes and lands in Kosovo ???

I am afraid, eliminating Qassem Soleimani already made more harm to the U.S. and to innocent people than Qassem Soleimani.

By all accounts U.S. numerous interventions were largely unsuccessful and resulted in far more casualties than what would happen without these interventions.

All interventions are a questionable tool but they may work. Interventions made by idiots never work. The root cause is not that U.S. would be "evil" but that the involved would look only for greenback and that the very same involved are horribly uneducated, stupid and scum of Earth.

The mess that is now Libya is a direct result of US meddling. There was NO civil war/casualties in that country prior to US led intervention; lets repeat that for you; there was no civil war in Libya. Yes, it was ruled by a dictator but it was peaceful plus the health and education system were second to none. If you were bright and wanted to study outside Libya the government paid for your entire education from flights to and from Libya, accommodation, university fees and a stipend to sustain yourself.
