Putin's regime has been kicked up a notch in desperation to stay in power and achieve nothing as the last 20 years have already proven. He is like a hamster on a wheel.

That's not true. Putin has brought Russia from ruin to the power it is today. It's all Putin's doing.

Now as far as staying in power is concerned, well that's not exactly democratic. He is doing everything in order to stay in power for as long as possible and ordinarily I would say it's a horrible use of power but since there is no credible opposition and Russia NEEDS a strongman to help it through the transition from Communism to Capitalism, there is no other alternative.
The US and Australia both have the same useless system of only one of two parties can win and at the end they both start to resemble each other which means we don't have options. It becomes like a the system that Russia is having now. What is the difference really?
Putin knows that if he isn't at the helm Russia isn't going to continue on this improvement path. He has to be there, therefore he has to find a way to be there.
Who is the alternative and would they only become America's puppets or have Russia first intentions?

Yes we have a different face in the WH after 8 years at the most but so what? The new face is being controlled by the same master.
In Australia it's a little worse. The PM can stay as a party leader for life and keeps his job for life as long as that party keeps winning.

I guess that you are talking about Russia not having a democracy like the west where people at the top change. Well in the US the same 2 parties have ruled for over 180 years now. In its entire history they have only had a President belonging to the 2 parties.
The 2 parties have the same agenda regardless what the people want. They elected Trump because they were tired of wars but look at it today; its business as usual. You should open your eyes.
If you live in the US then you have no future since your democratically elected politicians are selling you out through debt and money printing.
