Nobody is saying Sadam, Gaddafi, etc, were nice people. And for sure they were guilty of some dreadful things. However, you can't be serious that things are better now after US involvment??? That's because TV tells people how wonderful things are in the US. They see all those beautiful mansions and are told "and you too can have this if you work hard". Hollywood has been selling this BS for many decades, but when they get there and work for $7.50 an hour then it's not that glamorous. Most are from South America where the US has created hell holes and they think the US will give them the life they deserve.
Go to the US and see how well things are going. I was there in April this year. The numbers living on the streets in California, Florida or New York etc have grown substantially since I was there in 2017.
