Yes, your Irinej is flip-floping to create confusion in Serbia. That is how one clears themselves of suspicion that is building up around him. He got paid and now he is trying to publicly say one thing but totally be fine with what Vucic wants to do. This old saying is very true in this case: The wolf prefers the fog so he can prey easily on their victims.
The fog is the confusion and flip-flopping in this case. Irinej is creating this confusion to make it easier for Vucic to do what he has to do in Serbia.

You are right, I should feel "embarrassed" for calling out on an oblivious serb that has been brainwashed his entire life and can't see nothing past his nose. If this is an embarrassment than count me in as I will be more than happy to carry on with embarrassing myself like this.

Perhaps the church should give up on their fixation on Kosovo. Jesus was good at giving that kind of challenge.

The problem with your argument is that you are equating "the church" with Irenej. That's okay if you believe he is the supreme authority, either the third person of the Trinity, or at least a Serbian pope. Take your pick!
