As for conditions by Serbia....this is an amazing statement. Did not Albos break every agreement they ever signed?? For example, res 1244, Cefta/taxes, formation of so called army, Brussels agreement, etc. And they have the cheek to come up with a "platform" for talks that is nothing short of an ultimatum. In other words its just a wish list.
But lets look at it another way. Albos in Kosovo have proved that starting an armed conflict can work. Kosovo was always Serbian (when was it Albanian??), but by lobbying America and promising them anything and everything may lead to daylight robbery....stealing land.
However about half the world realises this crooked tactic and they will not recognise the narco mafia state of Kosovo. And 2 of the 3 superpowers will not have it. You seem so cock sure of Albanian position but dont count your chickens.....

First announcing a parade and stop it after NATO demands, putting conditions for the further negotiaton process with Prishtina and to announce talks in Berlin, getting the clear message from France about no way to become an EU member in 2025 but going to Berlin, seeing Kosovo as part of Serbia and having official talks about this case with Albania. This are only a few points from the never ending story to make big noice and producing only hot air in Belgrade. Vucic is speaking with all NATO ambassadors but Trump or Merkel would never speak with a Serbian ambassador. And at the end Serbia appointed its new ambassador to Russia, somebody with no diplomatic experience but as war correspondent. A terrible message and a totally unclear biography, Serbia today.

The thing I can't get mu hands around is Edi Rama participating in the meeting. What the hell?!? I think maybe Putin or Lavrov should be there as well if this is the case. Traditionally, the Albanians can't do anything without help from the outside or hiding under puppet masters skirts, but this seems a little over the top. Why wasn't the Serbian contingent up in arms over this?!?!

Time is on Serbia's side so there is no hurry at all. Just keep working on the de-recognitions and don't sign anything.

But it's also obvious that this support is mostly based on putin's attempt to undermine NATO, and not because they actually care about serbia's future without putin. there are telling signs that russia's stance with serbia is becoming lax..seeing that serbia won't even recognize crimea as an integral part of russia, while russia goes up to bat for preserving serbia's supposed territorial integrity. and remember putin even stuck his neck out for serbia by vetoing the resolution on calling the conflict in Bosnia a genocide. i suspect Serbs will be paying the price of that favor for a long time.

I'll agree that Russia's presence has something to do with curtailing NATO's aggression in Europe; however, we have had brotherly relationship with them for over 700 years - whereas, you've had relationship with the Dark Star (US) for only 20 years, and that's only because they needed a pawn in the Balkans. The Russians understand why we can't recognize Crimea,because they used the KiM precedent to take the Crimea - same as Israel and Palestine not recognizing KiM.

If you are going to implement a problematic Republika Srpska in northern Kosovo, you have essentially partitioned the country. Only difference is you will be causing long term problems for the state, like we see in BiH.

If that is going to be the case, the best thing would be partition. Kosovo can carry on trying to be a proper country before it just gives in and joins Albania, and Serbs in the north can get a better deal under Serbia.

Why are Germany and France hellbent on causing long term problems, and continued grievance for Kosovo's citizens? If the status quo isn't working, and bare in mind northern Kosovo already acts like a mini RS, then try something else - no matter how awkward, in this case PARTITION. I am surprised Kosovo Albanians and Serbs are not tired of all these experiments and just come out and accept what will definitely sort out their biggest problem - living together.

The EU will never sort out the Balkans. It has no patience nor experience, it simply brushes things under the carpet a la Bosnia.
