Georgia - Saakashvili killed Russian peacekeepers in the initial attack to finish Tblisis's war against its minorities once and for all. Saakashvili should be grateful Russia only kicked their asses, didn't take Tblisi and string him up as the psycho war criminal he is.
Ukraine - 2004 western sponsored Orange Revolution. The poisoning of Viktor Yushenko (by Russia) which wasn't. Open public interference in Ukraine in 2014 with western officials directly discussing who will be in government and parading openly in Kiev their support for anyone anti-Russia, fascist or not. It really couldn't have been more obvious what they wanted.
The rule was 'Hands off' the Ukraine from any direct interference, from the west OR the east. Russia was willing to put much more money in to the Ukraine than either the US or EU and its economy was much more closely tied. Only a moron would think Russia would accept NATO based in Sevastopol and it would be a pushover, but there are a lot of powerful morons (still) about.
The West broke non-direct interference rules on multiple occasions and was certain to happen at some point after the expansion of NATO right up to Russia. They kept pushing until Russia pushed back.
Remember kids, NATO and the west said over and over again that bombing Serbia and backing Kosovo*'s indepdence 'Is not a precedent'. You f/k international law, international law f/ks you. Tough.
