He had a pair of scissors and told me, "We're going to cut your fingers and ears off." "Killings of Serb civilians took place near the village of Gracko, in central Kosovo. Fourteen farmers were shot dead as they harvested hay in the single biggest massacre since KFOR entered the province. The farmers were reportedly shot at close range." Another set of killings took place on June 19 in the village of Belo Polje, near Pec. Visiting the village a day later, a Human Rights Watch researcher viewed the bodies of three ethnic Serb men, each of whom had been killed by a shot between the eyes at point-blank range. Serb villagers who claimed to have witnessed the attack told Human Rights Watch that ten uniformed KLA soldiers entered the village and "executed" the three men at approximately 5:30 p.m. According to the Serbian Orthodox Church in Pec, approximately thirty Serbs were killed in the Pec municipality in the months of June and July, although the circumstances of their deaths are mostly unknown. Malica Miric, twenty-six, was allegedly killed by two men, one in KLA uniform, in Belo Polje on June 26. Milena Vujsevic was allegedly killed by unknown assailants in her Pec home on June 27. There have been multiple killings of Serbs in Kosovo's capital, Pristina. On June 23, the body of Milenko Lekovic, a Serb professor for the economics faculty, was found in the faculty's basement, along with the bodies of Miodrag Mladenovic, a Serb guard in the building, and Jovica Stamenkovic, a Serb waiter from a cafe in the building. Lekovic and the other men had been shot and beaten with a blunt instrument. Human Rights Watch has also received a report about the killing of four elderly men from the village of Slivovo in Pristina municipality. Several security incidents in the town of Lipljan appear linked to efforts to force Serbs to leave. Exactly a week after the decapitation of a Serb in the town's market on July 5, there were four grenade attacks on Serb homes in Lipljan in the early afternoon, killing one person. Marko Vitosevic’s wife and one of his sons had left the house only a day before and moved to the part of Orahovac/Rahovec where Serbs lived, but he had stayed on to keep an eye on the premises. There was a report made by the (now defunct) Swedish Board of Psychological Defence about the role of the media in the Kosovo war. TLDR: Only the views of NATO were presented by the media to the Swedish audience and that played a big role in how the people in Sweden perceived the war. Just to conclude on my last point I would like to say that western governments decide where to butt in and how. Mostly its got little to do with truth, justice or int. law. I did read about 4 or 5 years ago that since the turn of the century there had been around 2000 Serbs that had been found murdered or just missing. And the amazing thing (or maybe not so amazing) is that there had been not one arrest in connection to those murdered or missing.
These sorts of things had been going on since the 1970s with provocations, burning of property, harrassment, bullying, etc.
But of course the world ignores this, just as they ignored the cleansing of Serbs from Croatia in '95.

Zakharova is correct about western media. I recall that in '95 there was nothing in the British media about Croatia cleansing up to 300K Serbs. Vast majority of Brits have no idea this even happened. Why is that? Yet the bread queue massacre was on every media outlet. But when it was proved it was the Bosnian muslims who planted the bombs to kill their own it was not reported.
There are many examples where things were blamed on Serbs and well publicised but never the other way. Even Milosevic's exoneration by the Hague is little known, so people here still think he was found guilty.
The media here is also anti Putin. For example they often talk of Putins "anti gay laws". But its not illegal to be gay in Russia. But in over 70 countries it is against the law. Some even execute gay people, such as our ally S Arabia...

"He and his friends in KLA uniforms began to beat me again. Then he took his gun which was empty and said, "Kill me." I said, "I don't know how to use it." He hit me in the head. Someone [else] began beating me with a baseball bat. The KLA commander and two others and two women took me to another room. He had a pair of scissors and told me, "We're going to cut your fingers and ears off." "Killings of Serb civilians took place near the village of Gracko, in central Kosovo. Fourteen farmers were shot dead as they harvested hay in the single biggest massacre since KFOR entered the province. The farmers were reportedly shot at close range." Another set of killings took place on June 19 in the village of Belo Polje, near Pec. Visiting the village a day later, a Human Rights Watch researcher viewed the bodies of three ethnic Serb men, each of whom had been killed by a shot between the eyes at point-blank range. Serb villagers who claimed to have witnessed the attack told Human Rights Watch that ten uniformed KLA soldiers entered the village and "executed" the three men at approximately 5:30 p.m. According to the Serbian Orthodox Church in Pec, approximately thirty Serbs were killed in the Pec municipality in the months of June and July, although the circumstances of their deaths are mostly unknown. Malica Miric, twenty-six, was allegedly killed by two men, one in KLA uniform, in Belo Polje on June 26. Milena Vujsevic was allegedly killed by unknown assailants in her Pec home on June 27. There have been multiple killings of Serbs in Kosovo's capital, Pristina. On June 23, the body of Milenko Lekovic, a Serb professor for the economics faculty, was found in the faculty's basement, along with the bodies of Miodrag Mladenovic, a Serb guard in the building, and Jovica Stamenkovic, a Serb waiter from a cafe in the building. Lekovic and the other men had been shot and beaten with a blunt instrument. Human Rights Watch has also received a report about the killing of four elderly men from the village of Slivovo in Pristina municipality. Several security incidents in the town of Lipljan appear linked to efforts to force Serbs to leave. Exactly a week after the decapitation of a Serb in the town's market on July 5, there were four grenade attacks on Serb homes in Lipljan in the early afternoon, killing one person. Marko Vitosevic’s wife and one of his sons had left the house only a day before and moved to the part of Orahovac/Rahovec where Serbs lived, but he had stayed on to keep an eye on the premises. Marko’s other son, Zvezdan, who was already living in another part of town, said that witnesses told him that KLA fighters went from house to house, tying people up and escorting them out. “They crammed them into a car and drove off in an unknown direction,” Zvezdan Vitosevic said. He said he later learned from another Serb, who was seized alongside his father, that the KLA tortured them at their headquarters at the local Fire Department, then took them to the outskirts of town in the evening. The other Serb said he escaped when the KLA fighters untied his hands. While running away, he heard the fighters shooting. “He heard gunfire, but didn’t see the executions. Since then there has been no trace [of my father],” Zvezdan Vitosevic said. "Earlier, Serbs reported that a 90-year-old woman, Ljubica Vujovic, had been held down in her bathtub and drowned." “Milos Petrovic, Serb, 16 years old was shot in the head at close range by members of the KLA disguised as Italian K-FOR troops.” "An OSCE official reports that in Zupa, a 96-year-old Serb man was found bound and gagged with a gunshot wound to the head. In Kamenica, a Serb woman, 82, who had been ordered to leave her house was burnt to death in her home."

As someone who lives in the west this is fake news. Serbia has a more positive image than Greece, Albania, Bulgaria and Romania for different reasons.

I did read about 4 or 5 years ago that since the turn of the century there had been around 2000 Serbs that had been found murdered or just missing. And the amazing thing (or maybe not so amazing) is that there had been not one arrest in connection to those murdered or missing.
These sorts of things had been going on since the 1970s with provocations, burning of property, harrassment, bullying, etc.
But of course the world ignores this, just as they ignored the cleansing of Serbs from Croatia in '95.
Its a sad world we live in where propaganda and percetion rules. Where "marketing companies" such as Ruder & Finn, Cambridge Analytica, etc distort the truth. And the saddest thing is that western governments use these corrupt companies to start illegal wats in places like Serbia, Iraq, Afghanistan. They now doing it to Venezuela.

view from uk, of course there was a war in Slovenia, it's called the ten-day war or the Slovenian independence war. it's hard to imagine that you are not aware of this known historical event that started the yugoslav wars. which really only goes to show how deluded many serbs have become on the actual events of the conflicts and now thinking themselves as the victims in a war they started. the Slovenia invasion is a very clear pattern of what serbian state did against it's neighbors during the 90's. it's amazing to think that there are still serbs attempting to hide this history and deny it at every corner.

Just to conclude on my last point I would like to say that western governments decide where to butt in and how. Mostly its got little to do with truth, justice or int. law. But everything to do with interests of the west (USA, Britain, France, etc). So many examples of this that it becomes so obvious.
The latest in focus is Venezuela. The US now supports a 35 yr old for president. Guaido is an unknown even in Venezuela. I'll bet you the US has him in their pocket and if he gets in just watch US oil companies pile in.
What is funny is that America has had sanctions on Venezuela for ages, and here they are now wanting to send aid to the people of Venezuela.? Just amazing.
So people, its all about interests (just follow the money) and nothing to do with justice, truth or rule of law.

Glow, the first country that has to recognise and come to terms with its past is Croatia. In WW2 the nazi Croat state murdered 1 million (give or take) Serbs, Jews and Roma. That country has never apologised or even shown regret at what it did. Even today many Croats deny it ever happened. Read again Glow...1 million people. And NEVER have you condemned this murder. Why? In '95 the Croats again went to action and cleansed up to 300K Serbs. You, like the west, ignore this.

UN investigators concluded that the mortar shells could not have come from Serb positions but from inside Sarajevo, but that report was conveniently buried by the US to levy the harshest sanction in world history on Serbia; another set up.
Now my favourite myth is Srebrenica. The Serbs have suggested many times to hold an independent investigation with prominent experts from outside BiH but alas the Bosniaks refuse. Why? Because the genocide myth is pure BS since all old men, boys women and small children were bused out of Srebrenica.
Croats are whingers hoping their lack of military prowess will be covered by Vukovar. Ask the Bosniaks what their allies the Croats did to them during the 1990s.

TLDR: Only the views of NATO were presented by the media to the Swedish audience and that played a big role in how the people in Sweden perceived the war. The Serbian side of the story did not reach the Swedish audience at all. The agency calls it "the battle for the communicative room" and that Serbia lost it.

Zakharova is correct about western media. I recall that in '95 there was nothing in the British media about Croatia cleansing up to 300K Serbs. Vast majority of Brits have no idea this even happened. Why is that? Yet the bread queue massacre was on every media outlet. But when it was proved it was the Bosnian muslims who planted the bombs to kill their own it was not reported.
There are many examples where things were blamed on Serbs and well publicised but never the other way. Even Milosevic's exoneration by the Hague is little known, so people here still think he was found guilty.
The media here is also anti Putin. For example they often talk of Putins "anti gay laws". But its not illegal to be gay in Russia. But in over 70 countries it is against the law. Some even execute gay people, such as our ally S Arabia...

Its just the western countries, led by the US, which by the way, is now involved in another spectacularly failure called Venezuela LOL. The US wanted the breakup of Yugoslavia but stepped on a pebble called Serbs and they are now stuck. They have done everything to get the Serbs to like them even make Albos look like low life over the taxes; sent an Ambassador who speaks Serbian, but no luck. But they sent you someone to Pristina who barely can speak English and you guys grovel.
No sweetie the Hague is not a Court but a Tribunal – read up on the difference. And no, the EU or your beloved US have no interest in the Hague.
The Serbs have repeated ad nauseum to the EU they will not recognise Kosovo, they will not join in sanctions against Russia and no more Hague; and if they don’t like that Brussels should stop the talks with Belgrade to join the EU. Chapter after chapter continues. I am against Serbia joining any way and any help from you would be most appreciated.
The only reason no more in the EU for now, the EU economies have been faltering since 2008 and money is a problem to meet financial obligations to new members. That’s all.

In Croatia I think it was well known what Croats planned for Serbs. Considering what happened in WW2, would you not worry? And guess what up to 300k Serbs cleansed for ever. As for Kosovo its known that the Albos had been planning for decades to rip Kosovo from Serbia (a sovereign country with clear & accepted borders). Lobbying and a lot of cash went to US politicians (such as Bob Dole) and set ups like Racak convinced the west to illegaly attack Serbia (no UN resolutions).
