This is a disastrous idea. Wind turbines are a blight on the landscape and are extremely harmful to wildlife particularly migrating birds. They are also irritating to anyone forced to live nearby. Plus they don't generate anywhere near the volume of power needed for large urban centres. Only nuclear power stations or hydro power can accomplish this.

The hydro power from the Danube can run entire Serbia twice and it would run day and night and not only when the wind blows and the sun shines...
