Don't know much about it, but this is how I understand crisis in Venezuela.
"The Venezuelan crisis started after Juan Guaido, the speaker of the parliament - the only body controlled by the opposition, declared himself as the country's president, during one of numerous protests against President Nicola Maduro. "
Situation seems to be much like in the US. President is from one party (in US- from Republicans)and Congress is controlled by another (Democrats). Imagine now if , on one of the numerous protests against Trump, Hillary declare herself to be President of US, and Congress supports her??!!
Would Trump just bend over and yield? Or will he stick to US Constitution that states President is elected, not appointed by the House?

Hmm dictatorships eh? Well what about the US support for Saudi Arabia? What happened to the murder of that journalist in Turkey? Did the US place sanctions on Riyadh? or its support of Bahrain, another over sighted dictatorship supported by the US.

Lavarov is not bluffing and there will be no regime change in Venezuela. I recall the US of Piss and Wind saying the same thing about Assad of Syria and look now they are about to turn tail and run and leave the opposition or Free Syrian movement on their own LOL.
Look at their record. Afghanistan; they are negotiating with the Taliban their departure - same people who supported Osam LOL, then Iraq, Libya; all win after win. But there is always hope of another small defenseless nation they could beat up.

That's not a sound analogy. Guaido declared himself interim president as the law specifies when there is not a sitting president. The argument is that the election of Maduro was rigged. If it was rigged then he is not the valid president and thus Guaido would be interim president. Interim is a key word here that should not be left out. He would only fill in the gap to call an election. The person who receives the most votes would be the next president, whether that would be him or Maduro or someone else. And, roughly speaking, that's how it works in the States too (plus the electoral college to balance representation for rural areas).

But I suspect your mind is already made up, and that's why your analogy was so poor.

First how do you know the elections in Venezuela were rigged? Did you count the votes in Caracas on election night? You are so dumb that you have no idea the purpose of the electoral college. The election of president and vice president of the United States is an indirect election in which citizens of the United cast ballots not directly for those offices, but for members of the Electoral College. It was designed to ensure the “right” person sits in the White House. Now that is real democracy at work.

How do you know the elections were rigged? If you want a good analogy, the US elections are rigged. Democratic leader Bernie Sanders was squeezed out due to Super Delegates who are non-elected officials of the democratic party which are funded by vast amounts of money. Hilary Clinton election was rigged. Hilary Clinton tried to rig the US presidential elections with a fake dossier with a foreign spy in the UK but she was outsmarted by Trump.

To reitterate what I posted yesterday on a another article: The USA better pay attention and listen to what Russia is saying. American taxpayers really can't afford paying for another dismal policy failure like what happened in Syria (or Iraq & Afghanistan for that matter). Trump should instead focus on USA border security and finally build the wall he's been promising for the past 3 years. This is what really matters to American taxpayers, and what will benefit USA. Leave Venezuela alone.

Syria 2.0! this is exactly how it started in Syria. Now that the US has won there it has moved on to Venezuela. I am not starting to doubt Trumps or John Bolton's capacity since a revolution Venezuela will not only produce another fantastic loss for the US but they will get the lion's share of Venezuelan refugees and this time even Donald's wall will not stop them from getting in LOL.
