I have no objections to the tariffs remaining forever, at all. If the Albos can find goods cheaper elsewhere then go ahead, but as I repeated many times a tax imposed on imports ends up being paid for by the consumer who pays at the checkout counter in the supermarket. Trump imposed tariffs on Chinese goods and the price at the checkout counter went up - it the natural law of economics; the manufacture/importer/supermarket do not absorb those costs, they pass it on to the consumer.
Naturally this rule does not apply in Albo economics since they learn in Albo Economics 101, Chapter 1, its always the manufacturer/importer that bares the cost and Chapter 2 deals with planting, pruning and harvesting money trees.

How Imports from other countries work is that you have to pay the tariffs on the border before being allowed through. The tariff is paid by the individual importing and passed to the customers thus making any product from that specific country more expensive that other countries who pay less or no tax.
