Yes that is true, but the question is when will the EU be ready to open its doors for new members? They talk about 2025, but the EU economy has flat lined and its stopped printing money because its not helping.
I'd say that its more like 2035 at the earliest before the economy recovers then add another 10 years to replenish the bank vaults and by the then EU will not even exist.
The US is leaving Syria, not because it wants to, but because it has to - cash problems. How long before they throw their hands in the air over Kosovo? They have already started to use the next borrowed trillion aka $23rd trillion.

Great of the German Diplomat to openly recognise Kossovaa*** is not a fait acompli and something that is far from resolution. Given UN 1244 still stands it remains that a solution still must be found and while such remains Serbian sovereignty.

The current EU does not function - economic disparity, wage gaps, cultural identity issues, borders and overall rejection of the status quo. A loose union similar to what Switzerland and and Norway have with the EU is the best way, the status quo is not working, and Serbia will not join this union that is coming apart anyway, by virtue of the many elements and factors that don't want them to.

Dear Mr. Schieb, the situation is pretty simple. You just have to remove Germany's illegal recognition of the independence declaration of Kosovo and then the situation will be resolved. Or else you can forget Serbia becoming a part of your little "Greater EU" project.

Yes I wrote Illegal. Even though ICJ ruled that an independence declaration itself is not illegal it is still the case that *recognising* the independence declaration violates international law. More specifically the 1975 Helsinki Final Act which explicitly forbids changing of borders without all involved parties agreeing on the changes.

Serbia is very far away from becoming a part of EU. Serbia lacks the number one rule of becoming part of EU and that is basic human rights and free speech. Like I said before, EU keeps the option of Serbia becoming part of the EU hanging just to have them behave more like normal/civilized people.

Remember the days when everybody was putting deadlines on solving this issue? Now there are no deadlines. My feeling is these ‘great powers’ in Europe have no idea how to solve this issue.
