I don't know what's funnier: that Albanians are in denial over this, or whether the threat of sanctions is going to make anything worse since Kosovo is already sanctioned through international, economic, and diplomatic isolation. I mean, what could the US sanction Kosovo for when they don't invest there to begin with? If Kosovo decides to keep the tariffs and the US revokes support for the Kosovo army, the army has already been established. If Kosovo decides to revoke the tariffs, they won't just revoke them without Serbia promising to sign the final recognition agreement.

Even if tariffs are revoked, they already served their purpose. While tariffs were in effect, Kosovo opened its borders with Albania and just today opened a customs office at the seaport of Durres, so they can import/export directly through the Adriatic without going through Albania's customs. The Kosovo-Serbia trade has been permanently damaged and I wouldn't count on Kosovars buying Serbian goods after this sensibilization campaign.

Serbia wouldn't dare attack, the Kosovo army should be enough to keep them away and Albania is not far if more support is needed.

If Kosovo decides to revoke the tariffs, they won't just revoke them without Serbia promising to sign the final recognition agreement.

Even if tariffs are revoked, they already served their purpose. While tariffs were in effect, Kosovo opened its borders with Albania and just today opened a customs office at the seaport of Durres, so they can import/export directly through the Adriatic without going through Albania's customs. The Kosovo-Serbia trade has been permanently damaged and I wouldn't count on Kosovars buying Serbian goods after this sensibilization campaign.
