@Peggy, staff,

I can guarantee you one thing that your foot will never set in Kosova (soon to be Great Albania) again!
(Glow, 14 January 2019 16:38)
=========================
You're probably right about me not setting foot in Kosovo as I have no plans to do that but it will not be great anything.
I care about the Serbs in Kosovo and Serbia so me wanting that has nothing to do with me setting foot in Kosovo.

Peggy, it must suck to live in delusion and try to keep that delusion alive despite the obvious facts that Kosova is an Independent country and recognized by over 100 free democratic countries. Kosova was NEVER part of Serbia and will NEVER be! This delusion will come to an end hopefully soon when the agreement is reached in this dialogue. Prepare yourself for the reality that you all should have accepted in 1999.

Will there be a organ harvesting centre in Pristina?
People from all over the world can fly there for organ transplant at bargain prices.
The donors will be Serbs and Roma that the Albanians are desperate to get rid of as they failed to replicate Croatia's operation Storm at the end of the 99 war.

Peggy

indeed it is a legitimate question. North and South Kosovo or Kosovo and Kosova would be options.

News about a Serbian "economic miracle" and foreign investments are a joke, Albania is getting much more. Serbia won't have stability until it can recognize Kosovo. A frozen conflict will not be "frozen" for too long and I wouldn't place my bets on Serbia to win it. See above on Presheva.
(Genti, 11 January 2019 01:06)

Well the US firms are investing in the economic miracle while they are giving your Albos the raspberry and dont ask me why they prefer to open shop up in Serbia proper instead of opening employment for their Albos friends.
As far as Preshavo is concerned there are very few Albos left and once we lose them then factories will open there, but no Albos will ever be employed LOL.

The US is pulling out of Syria and I know that Syria is far more important than Kosovo so I would be worried if I was you.

Peggy

What this guy doesn't address is if the parts of Kosovo that will go to Serbia are going to be absorbed by Serbia who is going to retain the name Kosovo?
If Kosovo is to split which part remains Kosovo and which loses that identity altogether?
The part which loses the identity will have to be named something else. What will it be?
Just like with Macedonia who actually has the ownership of the name?
I doubt it will be settled that way but it's still a legitimate question.

So your brilliant idea is to strip Kosovo of its most valuable assets and leave us with those "precious" churches? LOL. Even if Kosovo was as wealthy as Switzerland, no Albanian alive will allow Kosovo to lose Ujmani and the small Serbian-controlled part of Trepca. Giving them away would be economic suicide. Forget Presheva, this wouldn't happen even if Serbia gives Nish to Kosovo.

What will most likely happen is that Presheva, the Albanian majority of Bujanovc and maybe a few villages in Medvegja will be exchanged for Leposavic in Northern Kosovo. Both areas are equal in size, about 500km square. It's a small enough exchange that both countries will call it a "technical border correction" and be done with it. Serbia will have to pay war reparations separately to cover for the destruction and genocide it committed in Kosovo and Kosovo will commit to protect some churches and monasteries. The agreement will of course be "imposed", so Thaci & Vucic can wash their hands off it and tell people it was decided by the Great Powers and beyond their control.

American Eagle,
The Ahtisaari Plan was most certainly imposed on Serbia. Recall, the Brussels Agreement is based on Ahtisaari. The same holds true for the Rambouillet Accords, Serbia ended up having to eat the whole cake. That is why Serbia agreed to NATO having complete access to Serbia. Either this guy's in denial, or news reaches Albanian communities a few years later than everyone else. The United States is currently two weeks into a government shut down because its mad king is staking everything on a border wall that won't do anything to solve the problems paranoid white conservatives believe is plaguing the country. The United States is also receding worldwide in its overseas commitments. It's withdrawing from Syria while still thinking it has the presence and the clout of 1947. It's people are on the verge of rioting over crumbling infrastructure and crony capitalism. The United States is not a country anyone should put their hopes for the future in. Granted they're Kosovo's only friend, but Albanians have a historical knack for allying with the wrong side :)

Talking about the outcome of this dialogue will be a pure speculation at this time. There is so much noise and too many voices and opinions involved. The land swap is off the table from the latest news. With the pressure growing from all sides (EU and USA),a deal has to be reached and everyone has to be logical in this so there is an agreement and both countries can move on with their futures.

Staff, well said, and it could be a workable solution. The only stipulation for me would be to eliminate any aspirations for creating a Greater Albania - personally, I don't think the rest of Europe would want this as well. You still have the barrier of the Albanians leadership, in particular Haradinaj. This guy is screwed once there's an agreement in place - the KLA Tribunal should then kick into gear and he'll be tried, and probably convicted. I think he, and Thaci, will try to take this off the table in any future negotiations. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised that this came from an Albanian. (Its no use for albanian, or serbian for that matter, keyboard warriors to write a lot against this, because as you have read in the article, even albanian politicians have realized that it will be hard. Also, this will certainly take time).

Okey, lets do it!

Serbia proper will have:

-From the river Ibar and north including Zubin Potok.
-The Trepca mining complex.
-Gazivoda lake.
-UN will stay according to 1244
-There will be Serbian cantons in all serbian church/monastary places including Patriach of Pec and Decani monastery and serbian majority villages and places.
-Kfor will stay to guard those places with international military. (Just like Nato are present in some countries after WW 2.)

Albanians will have:

-The rest of Kosovo as a country.

Al,

I think you missed the part where it says "nor Serbia". Kosovo has little reason to disagree in an agreement that would advance its statehood. So in this case the fact that Serbia is even in these discussions shows that at the very least they are as much a "vassal state" to the west as Kosovo is.

All you do is try to balance a thin line between Russia and the US, hoping one can save you from whatever predicament you're in. Now leaning towards US which recently bombed you, even willing to sign away 12% of your land without any military conflict ongoing. Literally you're willing to discuss signing away what you view as you holy land without any conflict or even much pressure from the other side. Not surprising when considering you are the first state in history to surrender due to a bombing campaign alone, just 72 days and that was enough to strip you of your holy land. Online you are all independent warriors though... right.

Al

pre 5 godina

There you have it, a politician in parliament admitting that they have no say but to submit to their masters.
So much for the Albanian aspirations for their false statehood.
If an agreement is actually reached and signed, will the Kosovo Albanians actually have control and say over their own policy or still be submissive to their masters?
All that's really happened is they were snatched from Serbian control and put into USA control.
Does an agreement with Serbia actually grants them freedom?

The US and NATO want Kosovo to have access to Corridor 10, so it's unavoidable that Presheva Valley will join Kosovo and Serbia will sign the agreement in exchange for peace and stability.

In the end, I believe honestly it will be like the following:

-Membership UN, Unesco etc etc.
-Maybe Presevo town, not Bujanovac.

There will be many who will say this and that here on this forum about what I have written, but I honestly think that this is how it will be in the end no matter what you think.

Its not up to you, me, the albanians or the serbs to decide this. You know the topic is totally blocked and no one alive today will see how this will end if nothing happens. US, Russia and China are making the calls. We will see what will happen, but remember that Staff wrote this.

Staff, you are quite a character! I am sure you had the same confidence in 1999 that things will work on you all favor but we all know what happened. You all talk a big game to sound tough but we all know how tough you all really are.
Kosova is 95% Albanian and was part of Yugoslavia but NEVER part of Serbia. So keep your delusional thoughts to yourself as that is making you look very naive.

LOL,
Don’t under estimate the US, the same way you overestimate Serbia with its so-called foreign investments. Remember, 750,000 Serbs living in the US like it so much they prefer to be called Americans. Three quarter of a million Serbs (opps, Americans) can’t be wrong.

UCK officer

pre 5 godina

American Eagle,
The Ahtisaari Plan was most certainly imposed on Serbia. Recall, the Brussels Agreement is based on Ahtisaari. The same holds true for the Rambouillet Accords, Serbia ended up having to eat the whole cake. That is why Serbia agreed to NATO having complete access to Serbia. Why else would Nato allow Serbia a trial run in the Partnership For Peace.

Genti

pre 5 godina

(Staff)

"There is peace & stability in Serbia already"
(Watcher)
News about a Serbian "economic miracle" and foreign investments are a joke, Albania is getting much more. Serbia won't have stability until it can recognize Kosovo. A frozen conflict will not be "frozen" for too long and I wouldn't place my bets on Serbia to win it. See above on Presheva.

Al

Staff, well said, and it could be a workable solution. The only stipulation for me would be to eliminate any aspirations for creating a Greater Albania - personally, I don't think the rest of Europe would want this as well. You still have the barrier of the Albanians leadership, in particular Haradinaj. This guy is screwed once there's an agreement in place - the KLA Tribunal should then kick into gear and he'll be tried, and probably convicted. I think he, and Thaci, will try to take this off the table in any future negotiations. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised that this came from an Albanian. I believe the people want peace, but unfortunately their leadership has too much to lose and will try delay everything so they can survive.

@ Watcher aka sj,
“What would Serbia exchanging Presheva Valley for?”

Need I draw a picture for you: to be eligible to join the EU. Is it still a mystry to you, Kosova, the EU, US and NATO are on the same page regarding the soon to be imposed settlement on Serbia. If you don’t believe it, recall the same thing happened at Rambouillet. Are you getting the picture now!

As I don’t think Russia is necessarily anti Albanian, I also don’t believe the Americans(as they are) are particularly anti Serbian.

Haliti said that "only fools could oppose the United States."

Peggy, it must suck to live in delusion and try to keep that delusion alive despite the obvious facts that Kosova is an Independent country and recognized by over 100 free democratic countries.

As far as Preshavo is concerned there are very few Albos left and once we lose them then factories will open there, but no Albos will ever be employed LOL.
