I don't see big flags in countries where people have nice productive lives. Like Swiss,Sweeden,Norway, Danimark. We don't even know the names of their President. We know Putin, Vucic, Dacic etc.

Close, but not 100%.

- In the States the American flag is all over the places. Probably the most "flagged" country. But no one would dare to fly one which costs 4 million Bucks.

- You forgot Orbán who is probably the craziest and the most pathetic of all. There are hundreds of useless stadiums, now spilled over the border in Romania and Serbia built by Great Leader - but no 80 meter flagpoles. Given the great Hungarian record of soccer lately, 80 meter flagpole sounds more useful.

- No one knows, who is Vucic & Dacic & Co. outside of ex-YU. I would say, more people in the States or Russia know Osman Aga than Dacic.

- I am not sure, is there a big Russian flag anywhere in the country. Except on few official buildings I did not see any and certainly not 80 meter one, costing 4 million Bucks.

Build a 80 meter apology to all your neighboring countries
(Rex, 22 December 2018 16:42)

It has zero value. If you want, I can apologize to you 80 times a day.

If you ask me - I would let some kids in PR compete, the winners would be given scholarships at top schools in BG.

Or see the R&D center.

Nationalism, Fashism, Nazism, Komunizmi all these theories feed the people with empty promise. Flag is great symbol. But in the region is used to con people. Thank god there is a government that sets the right priorities, when it is about how to use the taxpayers money. Watching the flag will help the people with their unimportant problems like feeding their children, paying bills,...

"Jovanovic also said that RSD 407 million has been allocated from the budget for this purpose."

Isn't it something like 4 million Bucks?
That equals to maybe 2000(!) used "can't innovate my @ss" "trash cans", like this:

That's TWO THOUSAND Mac Pro-s.

Make a deal, get say, one hundred "trash cans".

Get some defunct building (how about some parts of the old Beograd railway station?), re-build it as an R&D center.

Put a 5-meter Serbian flag on the top of it.

And save some money for more R&D.

Jovanovic also said that RSD 407 million has been allocated from the budget for this purpose. What is that $ 4.70 U.S. equivalent. Maybe I'm thinking of the 1990's and the Serb mighty Dinar not much changed. Serbs can be proud as they gaze at the flag as their stomachs grumble. Politicians totally out to lunch from reality and their pet projects.
